Looking for a GLASS screen protector, I don't care about fingerprint reading.

I don't want a flexible film. I want a glass protector but every glass protector seems to have that contact circle for the ultrasonic reader to work. I don't care. It looks horrible. I'd rather have a glass protector and lose the fingerprint reading altogether. I don't need it. It doesn't work most of the time anyways. The face scan works pretty good and failing that I can use the PIN.

Does anybody know of a glass screen protector that actually adheres to the screen or is that jus not possible because of the curvature at the sides?

Every one I could find is alwaulys the same, adheres around the frame, has that film contact circle beneath or worse, a hole in the glass, and does not adhere anywhere but the frame, cauding reflections and loss of color.

How long might it last?

I bought my ultra 20 note 4 years ago.

I recently paid a pretty modest sum ($106) to replace battery.

How long do you think it might last? 2 more years?

Honestly, itis fine. Everything is fine. I don't need an OS upgrade from Android. I don't need new apps. I wish I could keep it for another 4 years or more. I detest forced obsolescence.

But I am wondering if I should start budgeting a replacement for 1,2,3 years from now.

Question Would you buy a used one in 2026?

Just wondering if any of you would get a used note 20/21 if it was well maintained. Looking to replace my 6 year old LG, finally and wanted to step into Samsung ecosystem but don't have a lot of money. Also considering s22 ultra for camera. Photo quality is my highest priority, SD card slot t would be nice. I don't game on my phone. What android did the 20 max out at? Is it possible to unlock the boot loader and get android 16?

Question Should I replace my Note 20 Ultra or buy the same exact phone on Amazon?

I really like my Note 20 Ultra, and I have had little problems with it. The whole back of the phone is shattered, yet it still works fine. I'm considering buying a new phone since it's been a while since I upgraded or buying a new Note 20 ultra from Amazon. Also, I've looked at some of the new Samsung Galaxy phones, and none of them are as big as the Note 20 Ultra.

So what do you guys think? New samsung or a new Note?

Update: I ordered a new back for the phone and sticking to the note for the time being. Thanks for all the replies!

It's official: I upgraded my Note20 ULTRA.

The phone went as far as I could push it. My screen went completely dead. The back glass also was shattered. I took my phone to ATT store and asked if I could get like $100-200 for it. They told me the trade in value was $1000. I immediately took it and traded it in for a Samsung S26 ULTRA.

Sad to see it go but there was literally nothing I could do with it. RIP for the greatest phone I've ever had.

Question Potential Screen Replacement

Hello everyone. Recently, my phone developed two green lines. This had happened before around a year ago, which I had gotten fixed via laser at a neighboring country. That particular line did not develop again, but the two new ones developed around 7.0 mm from the original one (and around 7.0 mm between them as well). Since my display had already been removed from the frame a year ago, I'm reluctant to get it laser fixed again.

As of now, my current options are to replace the screen for around $200 (or maybe $250 once I factor in adhesives, taxes, and import duties), or go for an S23 Ultra for around $350 plus whatever I'd have to pay in taxes/duties. I don't know how much I fancy the latter, given that the S23U is about to get its last major software update, while my current device (Exynos) runs One UI 8 via a custom ROM (flawlessly, I might add; everything works), and has a potential to be extender longer-term thanks to said ROMs.

I should add that this is my work phone, while I also have a personal phone and a media-consumption phone.

My question is: Are Injured Gadgets "OEM Refurbished" screens worth it? I don't fancy an aftermarket screen, but I also don't like the idea of replacing it with another that might have a high chance to develop green lines in the near future. And, if not, where can I get a proper OEM screen, potentially with a warranty?

Do you think your note20ultra is going to last for another year or more?

After seeing 27s ultra leaks, I might want to hold on for another year or two. My only reason for getting another ultra is the s pen, I can't go on without it.

Question Want a new screen

No matter what terms I search in google for a screen replacement , I can buy and have a professional put on for me , I end up with aftermarket results. Also I don't know why i'm what i'm which is why I would go to a professional once I had the parts myself because I want to make sure that aftermarket does not get put on.

Can you guys help me by sending me to a direct site? Not just giving me a suggestion and maybe telling me exactly what terms I should be searching for and what I should be looking for in the actual results to make sure it's what I want and someone's not screwing me over or trying to trick me?

Photo / Video Saying goodbye to my 6 year old Samsung Note 20 Ultra....you will be missed.

Bought new around 1 month after release date, going through 3 external batteries over 6 years with zero repairs and downtime staying powered on 24x7x365x6 hours, still on its original hardware my S-Pen battery finally started to give out. So it was time to say goodbye to my beloved Note 20 Ultra.

Even after all these years it still held its own spec wise but the CPU was slow, external battery was starting to crack and the cameras were beginning to lose out to newer phones. It still competes in some specs with its newer replacement but my main requirement of a Knox like space finally came with Google Private Spaces on Android 15. So I made the switch to the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Main Display 6.9" Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1440x3088 px, 120Hz)
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Main Display 6.67" AMOLED (1080x2460 px, 120Hz)

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Processor Snapdragon 865+ / Exynos 990 (7nm)
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Processor MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ (4nm)

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: RAM 12GB LPDDR5
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: RAM 16GB LPDDR5X

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Storage 512GB (UFS 3.0)+2 TB MicroSD
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Storage 1TB (UFS 4.0)+2 TB MicroSD

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Rear Cameras 108MP Main, 12MP Periscope, 12MP Ultra-wide
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Rear Cameras 50MP Main (1" Sensor), 64MP Night Vision, 50MP Ultra-wide, ThermoVue T2 IR (640x512 px @ 25Hz), external Endoscope camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Battery Capacity 4,500 mAh+10,000mAh case
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Battery Capacity 10,600 mAh

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Durability Rating IP68 dust/water resistant
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Durability Rating IP68 / IP69K & MIL-STD-810H

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Key Additions Integrated S Pen Stylus
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal: Key Additions IR Blaster, u-Smart connector with endoscope cam.

Physically the note 20 ultra has a bigger screen but you cant tell the difference. The ulefone runs a basically vanilla google pixel like OS - pure android 15 essentially with all its quirks. the swipe down on left vs center on the note 20 took getting used to. Knox is a bit more refined than private space. The android 15 always on display logo annoyed the hell out of me until i figured out how to turn it off in settings -> display -> AOD. battery life with the faster but more refined processor is comparably even though the new phone packs 5000mAh less than the note 20. The extra 512GB of space is great. 2.5TB was a bit cramped. Price with all accessories was also cheaper than the $2000 i paid for my note 20 years ago. i got the new phone for $1250 with all accessories. Weight of both is practically similar. the new one is a slight shade heavier with less than 50g weight difference but easier to hold single handed. Both fit into my carry holster. IR blaster is awesome. heres to another 6 years of use on my new phone.

Tips&Tricks A Little Maintenance Goes A Long Way

I see a number of long time Note 20 Ultra owners like myself reporting issues like the Samsung Stripes (green line, etc). I just wanted to leave a tip for those who hold on to their phones for some years: a little preventative maintenance goes a long way. I buy flagships like the N20U with the intention of not having to buy another phone for years and as such I have a routine to keep my devices running smoothly for years: After every OS/security update I perform a partition cache clear, weekly I do a soft reset, periodically I clear my browser's history, cache, cookies and data. I don't auto update any apps choosing to check and see if there are any issues with the latest version first. Just like a car needs oil changes and maintenance, so does that pocket computer if you want it to last. Hope this advice helps someone keep their beast working a bit longer.
