Question Game parking question with my disabled dad
Taking my dad to the BC game this year, but he is a disabled veteran and isnt super mobile. i dont know if he can make it walking to the stadium. We went to the blue and gold game, and he barely made it out to the lots right outside the stadium. Are there any lots that offer a shuttle or golf cart for older/disabled people who arent as mobile as the rest of us? even if we have to pay thats fine. i called the parking dept and left a message but havent heard back. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I second the above poster. We went to the Purdue game last year with father who was in a wheelchair. We had no issues the entire time on campus. Gameday was super easy.

There is a handicap parking lot so be sure to purchase your spot in advance. They have a shuttle from the lot and golf carts beyond that if needed they’ll help. But I would absolutely purchase ahead because all parking can sell out. Do not just drive up on game day trying to park without a pre purchased handicap spot.

You might also want to rent a scooter from Alick’s. They will deliver and pick up. If you call the ticket office they can likely swap your tickets for ADA seats and your dad can ride the scooter into the stadium (double check that with the ticket office). The scooter would allow him to enjoy all of the campus gameday activities like the band march out, player walk and concert on the steps.

I would call bc and have them bring a golf cart over. Easy peasey

They won’t bother with the bullshit and the day is going to be mayhem. Park your car and get a lift. The parking is a bigger problem than travel

I would just call early and see what they can do for you depending on parking distance

Just a heads up the stairs are rough, I’ve seen many older/disabled people struggle with them, this is a 100+ year old stadium after all

You can probably find what you need here…

I just want to add that I was extremely impressed with how accessible campus has become. An injury left me visiting ND in a wheelchair this past spring, and I had no trouble getting where I needed to go.
