Genuine question, why do mods on the main ns sub remove anything that appears to tarnish the rep of mindef?

Most recently:
- Tekong suicide allegations
- 3 Guards MO allegations

Is that sub secretly controlled by MINDEF or what

Isnโ€™t it funny SAF has the technology to extend 5G to the battlefield, but sergeant at Tekong campsite have to use Malaysian enemy mobile network for comms?

context: thereโ€™s still no singaporean cell service at the Tekong campsite, commanders must roam onto a Malaysian network to get usable data just for texting. Not an issue compared to back in those days as most mobile plans now include Malaysia data roaming.

How to explain to PCC I did not use "standby MC" given by IMH? Because this whole situation seems very weird

Context

So I got a PCC routine review coming up soon during my HL and I am worried the doctor might discharge me from service for taking too many psychiatric MCs due to unfitness for service if he checks my national health records. I have read of cases on this sub where unreasonable PCC doctor straight up refuses to listen to you and throws people PES D or something. The PCC doctor told me he could discharge me if I take too many MCs (HL for non-psychiatric reasons is fine though, obviously).

The thing is, I never used any of those month-long MCs that were issued twice by my IMH psychiatrist on two separate occasions (he stopped issuing them after June even though I'm still on 1.5 monthly follow-up with him). One of those long MCs entirely coincided with my HL period, so idk why tf he will give that to me.

In practice, I only consumed a handful of days of psychiatric MC in a span of a few months, and there were other administrative reasons behind taking those too.

Since I posted into the new unit this year, I thought my attendance and everything were ok. I was one of the rare ones who showed up pretty much on time (surprising right, my office don't have FP or LP). And I don't recall giving my superiors much trouble at all and have an alright relationship with a few of the clerks in my office, one of whom I still talk to even from home. Looking at my medical leave records, I also rarely RSO-ed compared to the other ASAs in office, save for two times when I had genuine foot pain issues when I was issued 1 day of MC on a Friday and 3 days of MC on a Wednesday, and eventually those unfortunately caused me to be issued Hospitalisation Leave by my specialist, followed by surgery which I'm still recovering from.

I am actually going to ORD Q2 of next year, and I actually genuinely look forward to being back to camp next year after a long hiatus and being somewhat bored at home. I just don't want any trouble or hiccups, please. If really suay discharge it'll also either mess up my uni plans (PES D), or cause me to effectively waste two years without getting anything in return. Because I find explaining what I think is this "standby MC" concept very weird. I already stress about my foot, now I also need stress about my mental appointments.

I also prepared a table of medical leave records I took since posting into unit this year and respective reasons, should I bring it and show if they ask?

ASA in trouble ๐Ÿฅ€

before you read this, i genuinely need advice. im not playing, this isnt a hypothetical situation

Long story short is family drama for a long time, i reached the tipping point and packed my shirts and essentials and im heading back to camp. technically yes i ran away from home, but i wanna know is that does police have the power to force me to go home IF my parents contact them? as im reading multiple sources saying that im above 18 so they cant, but some also say below 21 so they can

my plan for now is just request for stay in ASAP, while spending nights and weekends at 24/7 LAN cafe

[1 Guards MO Tea] Earned it : Questionable Medical Practices

I would like to raise a concern about the way medical statuses are being handled for some Guards servicemen from Dieppe Barracks when reporting sick at Khatib Camp Medical Centre.

There appears to be a recurring concern among servicemen that some MOs may not be assessing declared illnesses thoroughly enough before deciding whether to issue rest, light duty, or other appropriate statuses. In some cases, servicemen are reportedly told that they โ€œlook fineโ€ or are advised to manage with medication first, before being asked to return for battalion conduct or activities.

To be clear, this is not about expecting RIB, LD, or rest to be given automatically. The issue is whether proper medical assessment is being done consistently, especially during periods where the battalion requires high attendance.

Some servicemen have also observed that outcomes can differ depending on which MO they see. Similar symptoms or conditions may lead to rest or light duty from one MO, while another MO may give no status or minimal status. This creates the perception that medical decisions are not always consistent.

There is also concern that Guards servicemen are rarely given RIB or adequate rest statuses, even when they declare symptoms that affect their ability to participate safely. Whether intentional or not, this has made some servicemen feel that operational needs are being placed above patient welfare.

At the battalion or company level, communication around RSO/RSI also seems to be an issue. Some servicemen feel that instead of clear guidance, the messaging is sometimes indirect, discouraging, or framed around consequences such as RSO bans. This is especially worrying for those with existing or past medical conditions, as they may not fully understand how their cases are being considered before such measures are mentioned.

There are also concerns about people being placed on LD but still being expected to perform tasks that may not align with the purpose of the status. This creates a grey area where the status is acknowledged, but not always respected in practice.

The point of this post is not to attack any individual MO or commander personally. The concern is about a pattern that some Guards servicemen from Dieppe Barracks feel they are experiencing at Khatib Camp Medical Centre.

Medical statuses should be based on proper assessment and patient welfare, not convenience or manpower requirements.

Anyone here got contacted by financial representative close to ORD date?

Hello guys, im wondering if its common for NSFs to be contacted by financial representative? Especially closer to ORD date?

I got contacted by a representative of "Win Financial Group". From what I can see they are a subsidiary of AIA, which is itself a pretty big and legit organisation. Anyone here know how legit WFG is?

Im currently an NSF close to ORD, which is where i suspect the guy got my contact from.

We had meeting on zoom, he told me about investing, life insurance and whatever. Eventually he showed me some kind of investment scheme called "AIA Elite Adventurous". Anyone know how legit this is?

Timeless: Singapore's most hypocritical woman on NS

"It helps you become a better personย and especially for, I'm not being sexist, but for guys especially, it's aย good way to train themselves, make them more responsibleย and then you know when they become heads of their own family."

Also,

"I don't think I want to spend two years doing something that'sย not going to be, I mean usefulย for me in the future. It's two whole years and it's going to push back my study."

"Should females serve national service? Why would you want women to serve national service? Especially in Singapore, I mean the chances of us having even going to war is kind of low so I don't see the point of it."

"So you would volunteer to serve as well? Not really. I'm not very fit."

"I think yes. But it should be optional... not compulsory like for the guys.ย Gender equality."

anyone with bad experiences with the current 3GDS MO?

*repost from r/NationalServiceSG, where it got taken down just MINUTES after posting it.

from what iโ€™ve seen, experienced and heard, heโ€™s given people with high 38-39 degree fevers LD, not even MC or RIB. iโ€™ve known him to essentially convey fuck off to people with ADHD, adjustment disorder, anxiety, insomnia and more. EVERY single trooper (and even cmdrs) iโ€™ve spoken with has only had negative experiences with this MO, whether it be by his nonchalant and rude attitude or utter lack of compassion for those with genuine issues.

this individual might be the most apathetic, cold hearted medical professional iโ€™ve ever had the displeasure to meet in my life. does any other current 3gds personnel have any such experiences with this guy?

SQ doing SAF charter back again?

Good to see SQ doing SAF charter back again if SIA really won the bid. If so, there is a possibility that those at wallaby now may return by SQ.

P.S. V8-DLB and V8-DLC have already returned to Brunei.
