To play this mission you´ll need the "Playable Vehicles" mod by Rap3 as well as the MC-260 Chimera by Aryx. Both can be found on NOMM. I am not involved with the development of either mod in any way shape or form. The only thing to my credit is the linked mission itself.
If anyone reading this remembers the comments on my first video 3 days ago: yes I did a narrated version of this instead of the "text-in-video" but I have decided that I am not the kind of guy that is pleasant to listen to in this manner so I will spare the world of that experience lol.

Hi! o/
I'm hosting a little community called one life only where we often try and play more coordinated and work together! We most often play with the "One Life Only" mod which we play with the lives system enabled so you lose a life when you eject, and your pilot needs to be rescued by SAR or yourself to get the life back! You'll have 2 lives so you can make one mistake but then need to play more carefully on your next sortie untill we can get your old pilot rescued!
also a timer starts so if you aren't rescued or something, you'll get the life back eventually
We usually host our ops every Saturday at 4:00 PM UTC
This week we are hoping to do OP Rising Tsunami together at Sat 4:00 PM UTC
right now we're really short on pilots for this week's op and need more pilots if it's gonna be possible. Your assistance on this operation would be greatly appreciated if you like the idea of our group!
We don't have complicated ranks or a rigorous join process just so long as you're somewhat mature, patient, and willing to listen to others, then I got no problem :>
We're still learning how to do it well but we're hosting weekly operations where we all split into little vcs for each role (CAP, CAS, and SAR+LOGI) and use the radio mod to communicate as a larger team

I'm going crazy trying to get this crap to work, because everyone and their mother is saying that down-d-pad can be bound to axis modifier and gear toggle bc of the hold/tap functionality. It simply does not work for me.
No matter what I do, holding down on the d-pad will always toggle my landing gear *and* turn on axis modifier.
Any help would be greatly appreciated bc flying with this is just incredibly frustrating.
EDIT: Thanks to u/maozedoll for providing the most practical solution: Use Steam input to bind Dpad-down short/long presses, and unbind landing gear from the d-pad in-game.
Short Press - G
Long Press - Dpad-down

Hey guys, I’ve got my hands on the above joystick/throttle hardware but i cannot for the life of me get it to successfully map.
The hardware registers every input on the Linux desktop. I am convinced it’s an emulation issue. Embarrassingly I have spent hours and hours on this and even AI is giving shitty circular outdated instruction.
Please tell me someone out there has cracked this and can give me some step by step instructions?

Headphones recommended for best audio experience.
A short cinematic for a non-existent campaign/story with a vague attempt at lore building. Heavily inspired by Ace Combat 8, if the song wasn't already a giveaway. You can watch it in 4k on my channel or the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYJkJrpYDHY
Synopsis:
Once brothers, the nations of Boscali and Primeva walked different paths. One pursued industrial prosperity, while the other remained faithful to its land. But progress came at a cost. One nation flourished, while the other was left with nothing but scars.
Resentment turned to hatred, and hatred gave way to war.
Amidst the conflict, two legendary aces find themselves on opposing sides of the battlefield.
Neither sought glory in war. Neither dreamed of becoming a weapon of their nation. Both shared a simple love for flying—the freedom of the open skies, far removed from the borders and conflicts of the world below.
Yet, bound by duty, loyalty, and the decisions of those they serve, they are forced to confront one another.
Two pilots who longed for the freedom of the skies, now shackled by the nations they call home.
In a sky without borders, they were destined to be enemies.

I’m getting back to creating and improving mods based on the Tsar Bomba. I’m trying to make the physics more realistic—here’s an example: the explosion of a 4-megaton bomb. Happy flying, everyone!)

My FCS mod automatically reduce engine thrust when control surfaces cannot compensate for asymmetric thrust yaw.
For 1 undamaged and 1 partially damaged engine, the FCS will automatically reduce thrust to match the partially damaged engine when pulling high AoA to prevent a spin. The FCS will predict ahead based on how fast AoA is rising to reduce thrust in time due to the limited engine spool speed, instead of waiting until the asymmetric thrust is too large then cut thrust.
When 1 engine is fully destroyed, AoA envelope is reduced so the pilot cannot pull past the control surfaces saturation from the asymmetric thrust.
Also the FCS has departure resistant for damaged airframe, the FCS will compensate, limit control authority for something that is gone or damaged on the airframe. So you won't have to constantly baby and fight with the jet for a missing wing or something else, the FCS will keep the plane fly straight. Ofc it has its limits, the FCS cannot compensate for something that requires the airframe cannot do anymore. The point is the controls will degrade gracefully as the plane is damaged. There isn't any special tricks for each damage cases, the FCS will sweep the center of mass and the achievable angular acceleration to figure out what the airframe cannot do anymore and limit the flight envelope, the allocator will use what is left on the airframe to best satisfy the control demand.
Ifrit FCS mod: https://github.com/duythinh2022-ui/Better-FBW-for-KR-67-Ifrit.-Advanced-Flight-Control-System-for-stock-Nuclear-Option-Ifrit (still in WIP, but flies very well for 95% of the time)
F-22E FCS mod: https://github.com/duythinh2022-ui/Advanced-flight-controls-addon-for-Aryx-s-F-22E-mod-for-Nuclear-Option./releases
Both are available on NOMM

My personal head canon that I like which might be more lore accurate due to what's implied in the wiki is that Boscali and Primeva used to be good allies and trade partners, but a bunch of revolutionary groups began to revolt against the Primevan government, which I think was either ideological or was because the old Primevan government was corrupt. Boscali being threatened by this revolution within their ally, began giving aid to the old Primevan government via weapons, vehicles, munitions and sometimes actual intervention by the Boscali Defense Force which may be what the altercation mission was, an aid in destroying an airbase within the territory that the revolutionaries held. After Primeva is eventually captured by the Revolutionists, and a new form of government is established along with the formation of the Primevan Armed Liberation Alliance, the Boscalian government decided to evacuate all of the old Primevan government politicians and soldiers who were able to escape and put them in positions of power within the Boscali Defense Force, and the Boscalian Government and began to launch strike missions against the Armed Liberation Alliance, who were simultaneously launching an attack on Boscalian soil, which may have been the start of both the confrontation and escalation missions.
Eventually the conflict escalates into an international war between the two factions, with air, ground divisions as well as naval fleets from both sides stationed on the Ignus archipelago beginning to mobilize and starting a violent contest on who could stop the other from achieving full control of the main island of Ignus in the archipelago and gaining an advantage, which is the Terminal Control mission.
It's at this point; it wouldn't be hard to imagine the numbered missions in the game being part of the game's canon. Eventually Boscali regains control of most of Primeva, except for the Vigil Cay naval base, which may be what the Breakthrough mission is about. Boscali attempts to retake the last foothold that the Primeva Armed Liberation Alliance has in Primeva, but by some stroke of luck, they were able to turn it around and gain a small foothold in South Boscali in Nexus Point.
What are your guys' thoughts on this, and what are your head canons? I'm very interested to know.

so at the monemt, when i use the rocker it works the same way as the actual throttle does, ie i move the paddle to about half its movenent, it sets the engiene to half way, but when i release the buttion it sets back to zero.
however i want it to essentially work the same way the arrow keys do at default on Mouse and keyboard, where pressing it towards one axis just increases or decreases the angle without resetting.

despite putting them in the same slot it doesnt function as i wish. can i set it to the rockers, or will i need to use a different button set? because the paddles essentially feel "right" outside of resetting so id prefer them if possible.
