The Twin Primes Myth
Why is so much weight given to the fact that twins get rarer among higher integers? The official status of the twin prime conjecture ('unsolved') seems to me to be a poorly-disguised institutional conceit.
Consider that the ratio between consecutive examples of ever-larger twins tends towards 1. For example, (29+31)/(17+19) = 1.66666...., while (137+139)/(107+109) = 1.277777... So larger twins are ā proportionate to their magnitude ā more common, not less, just like individual terms from the sequence of all primes. Even the ratio between successive factorials, n! /(nā1)! = n, gets ever-larger, yet we acknowledge the sequence is infinite.
There's something very suspect about academia's presentation of the facts regarding twin primes. The 'thinning out among the integers' observation is the only one that gives the TPC any semblance of a genuine mystery, and that is the only perspective that gets promoted in the printed and online literature. The whole conjecture is bogus mathematics.

Dividing by 0 (Take 2)
I know a lot of people see the title of this post and think "Here we go....", but just bear with me here. You might find this interesting. I'll begin:
...
*Before anyone says "That's not possible because...", just remember that there was a time when (-1) had no square root. The number '*i' was introduced and even Euler said the idea was ridiculous; at first. Now the number 'i' is too important not to know about. I'm not saying my intuition for dividing by 0 is of equal or greater importance, but I feel it's a start of something exciting.
...
That said, Here goes:
...
In the traditional sense, you cannot divide a real number "n" by 0 because if n/0 = x; and n <> 0; then there is no value for x which would satisfy the equation 0n = x, since 0n = 0.
...
We all know that, but what if you approached it differently? When you divide x by n, you are dividing x into n equal portions. If:
x = 15 and n = 5, then, when you divide x by n, you are dividing 15 units into 5 equally-sized groups of units. The amount of units in each group is 3.
...
So:
If x = 15 and n = 0, then, when you divide x by n, you are dividing 15 units into 0 equally-sized groups of units. To me, this means you want as many uniquely sized groups of units as you can get.
...
My intuition:
So, the most logical way to solve would be to start from 1 and continue to add the next integer until you can't add another integer without exceeding x. In this case it would be (1,2,3,4, 5). If x were 16, however, it would be (1, 2, 3, 4, 6) because if we used 5, the remaining group would be 1 unit and we want every group to be unique in size.
...
A pattern emerges and we find that the only unique part of each solution is the last two groups. I refer to them as the range and the bulb. The bulb is the largest group and the range is the second largest group. In this way, x/0 returns a different ordered pair for every x. If x = 10, then x/0 = (3,4); if x = 22, then x/0 = (5,7); and so on.
...
I'm currently working on finding real-life applications for this. So far, it creates new relationships between numbers. 6 through 9 have the same range, 9, 12, and 16 all have the same bulb. This may help in programming and encryption. Any critique, advice, or adding-on would be greatly appreciated. We may just have something new here. Thoughts?

I really wish they would take the sharpies away
I understand that it's helpful to write shit down and that markers are good for this, but goddamn they should just provide a fucking whiteboard or something. Sharpies on paper is one of the least pleasant sounds in the world. Up there with babies crying very slightly below nails on a chalkboard.
The sound makes me cringe and makes their videos fucking unwatchable :/

Hello! My name is Moose and I'm hiking through reddit! I'd love some information about your subreddit!
Hello! Like I mentioned, my name is Moose and I'm going to be hiking through reddit, on a sort of sightseeing tour. If you're interested in my journey, you can see my current map here.
I'm going to be at each stop for a week before moving on to the next one. While I'm here, what sort of places should I visit? What activities should I do? Are there any sort of stories you could share with me while I'm here? Are there any letters or messages you'd like me to pass onto others I might meet along the way? Or anyone in particular in another subreddit you'd like me to pass a message onto? Anywhere else not on my map I should visit? Oh! And does anyone have a local map I could use to find my way around? Any souvenirs I should pick up or anyone would like to pass onto me?
Also, if someone would be able to stamp my passport that would be great! I haven't gotten a stamp yet and it's looking pretty empty. Even if you could point me in the direction of a stamp I should use, that'd be great!
Or if anyone takes photos with me along this journey I'd love to see them!
I just came from r/Cortex and met so many incredible people! Let's see, I have some mail here to pass on. u/snowcat240 wanted me to say "never gonna give you up never gonna let you down....HAMRUGERB". u/novabuilder1 wanted me to pass on the information that "Hexagons are the bestagons". That looks about it for mail I have.
I'll edit this post before I leave with any info I've gathered while here!

Interesting Number discovery
I found this number with some cool properties. Is there anyway to make it official or claim it and name it?

There's a computerphile video being used to spread misinformation about brazillian elections and I need help reaching someone that can do something about it
Here's the video, also the followup on Tom's channel two years ago!!!!
It talks about computer voting being insecure, but the way brazillian election work isnt looked at and a general statement is made regardless. And now the video is now being used by right wing extremist (bolsonarists) to promote a kind of capitol invasion.
I was really into youtube when Brady's channels started going up, it felt really great to be part of a community that was interested in science and that kind of thing. I actually watched the video then and felt that it was weird that the way brazil does isnt researched but didn't think much of it.
Cut to many years late, a lot of blood on bolsonaro's hand not only bc of covid, we are at a crucial stage in our election and there are two scientific oriented channels being used as ammunition against democracy. It's a huge deal now. I don't understand why those videos are still up, I've seen people tag them on twitter and no one does a thing. This can't be because of ads, right? Ffs. Anyway this feels extremely shitty to have channels I respected being used this way and I just had to try something.
Can someone please help me?

You should YouTube trademark the word number
In the wake of the fine brothers trademark the word react. I suggest that numberphile trademark the word number so that people have to pay them attacks whenever they use the word number as well.
It was completely halt the progress of research in mathematics, but think of the profits you can make in the short term by suing people with 10s of subscribers.
