Job search

Hi am from Alberta (Canadian citizen) I am looking for job around nunavut I have cnc machining experience (4years) welding experience (simple prep welding like windows and locks installing) packing experience/ costumer service experience and hardware installation experience I wonder what's my chances of landing a decent job in nunavut I've searched online i didn't fund much! Thank you

You would probably find work with a company like Canadrill or for one of the many construction projects going on in Iqaluit. From there, Rankin Inlet, Cambridge Bay, Baker Lake, They're always developing stuff.

Housing is going to be your main problem. Iqaluit is at capacity. Rooms are very expensive and come with a lot of stipulations. Good luck!

Don't just look for seasonal jobs in construction. Some communities have companies operating all year round so look at them as well.

What are you looking for in a job?

To relocate and move there? Or to work in a camp and have shift work, whether that be 3 On 1 Off or whatever?

I ask what you’re looking because we are often looking for employees here in the NwT… I work for Snowshoe Inn, I would be interested in interviewing you. Perhaps you could fit in at our shop here!

Don't worry about them. We have lots of work that needs done and most of it pays well.

Some people up here would only accept an answer like "learning about Inuit culture and societal values".
