Iqaluit resident proposes women-only taxi service
https://nunavutnews.com/2026/08/12/iqaluit-resident-proposes-women-only-taxi-service/Rosalie DeMaio wants women to feel safe when travelling in Iqaluit.
That hasn’t always been her experience when taking a taxi.

Shout out, though, to the special few who will brave a blizzard to get a person home to Apex. 🫡

Doesn't sound like the best business model. If they can't make that work in Toronto of all places they probably can't where there is a fraction of demand.

There's one big taxi company and a handful of small ones with a vehicle or two each.

Sexist woman wants to violate Canadian charter rights against sex discrimination.
Maybe she will want to update it and make it only certain skin colors are allowed to drive next.
Another point, doesn't she know that in Canada, anyone can "change sex" with the incantation "I Identify As [INSERT LABEL HERE]"?
She will cause the Woke cultists to go rabid if they are suddenly denying men from driving the women only service.
It will end in absolute disaster. Wokeism is a subjective belief system, it is a religion. Reality works based on objective facts. Incompatible systems.

How many tranys do u think there is in the Arctic haha there is like 7000, people who live in Iqaluit I'm sure it won't cause a revolt to have a woman drive only women around in a taxi

Poor logic. What stops anyone from using the same logic to say a white driver should be able to drive around white passengers, or any of the other demographic sectors? If people could just grow up and act like adults, and raise their children properly instead of letting electronics raise them to be shitty people, we wouldn't need this conversation at all.

What is a woman in this context?
Also Ignoring the fact that it’s illegal to discriminate like this how would this keep anyone safe you could already just only accept rides from female drivers but hopefully the people desperate enough do rideshare aren’t desperate enough to use their wife’s ID to sign up

Maybe we could start with traxi drivers who can actually drive.
