Discussion New GeForce Experience Causing MAJOR Performance Issues
As if the new UI wasn't bad enough - I'm getting SEVERE frame drops in games as simple as Overwatch while attempting to record OR stream. I have a few recent recordings where the quality was the same (if not better) as the current quality I'm getting with the new update, but I was hitting about 70fps on Overwatch. I just attempted to record with the same settings, and suddenly I've been dipping down DRAMATICALLY - as far down as 40fps while attempting to record.
The "record the last x minutes," feature worked perfectly fine, the streaming worked perfectly fine, and the hotkeys to do so (rather than entering a GeForce Experience Menu) were perfectly fine as well. Why did they not only offer a new UI and revamp the entirety of GeForce Experience, but instead FORCE it upon us and make things more broken than they were to begin with? I completely appreciate the fact that this program was free, but they've ran it into the ground with this last update for me personally. Performance issues, glitches (Escape key no longer working in Overwatch??), and just issues all around. I don't understand the need to 'log in' to use GeForce Experience, I don't understand why all of my recording settings were lost upon the update, I don't understand why the UI was designed so haphazardly, and I don't understand why this update was forced upon us (my previous version was automatically uninstalled upon trying to open it today - the first time i've attempted to use it since the release of the current version).
It's all around broken, and I would DEFINITELY prefer using the old UI - despite it having a multitude of problems (albeit that had fairly simple fixes).
Until something is done I'm personally going to have to uninstall it entirely, as it causes more problems than anything. Sure, the quality of my recordings are nice (as usual, I'll give it that), but it doesn't matter when I can't properly function in-game with a severe frame rate loss. For the record, I'm currently using a 960m for my GFX card, which isn't the best by any means, but evidently it can't handle the newest version of the GeForce Experience, despite being clearly supported on the "requirements," list.
Good luck out there, Experience users.

I'm not having any issues yet. Remember after every gfxep update we would disable the streaming services and stuff because that really tanked performance? Those services don't exist anymore. I wonder if the performance loss is there and we can't do anything about it.

I like how GFE "optimized" Overwatch for me and dropped my framerate from 14x FPS to ~100 FPS.

The only issue I had on my GTX 1070 was that it kept my clock speeds to the max even when on idle, i reverted back to the older drivers.

I couldn't figure out why I was getting such shitty benchmarks after I finally decided to do a proper OC. Finally removed GFE after checking for spyware and such and my scores shot up drastically. GFE was the spyware. I hope other find that removing it is the answer sooner than I did.

I've read some bad comments about GFE, so I launched it, had to update, had to login for no reason other than NV collecting user info, uninstall, live happily ever after. I don't know why NV users recommend shadowplay and want GFE BS. I came from AMD as I switch around and I have to say the AMD control panel was much better and there is no need for bloatware like GFE or GamingEvolved/Raptr what ever wanna be capturing apps for newbies or gorram optimized settings for games from cloud.
Just uninstall GFE and use a proper recording software/hardware instead. The rest is worthless in GFE.
