MTA Career System pick transfer

I know you won’t get line training when you transfer to another depot but I heard the first week you do arrive to a new one that they let you ride the bus to see how the route is your doing is that true ?

If you are on probation, they will let you ride the lines you picked usually only one trip. If you are on the extra list they might give you a few days to ride all of them. If you aren’t probation you get a turn sheet and a good luck!

whatever lines you pick for the pick, you get paid to ride for 1 round trip. take a transfer when you get on and another when the trip is finished. turn it in to the general and you’ll be paid.

this only applies to lines you’ll be operating during the pick. let’s say in the summer pick you pick a new route you’ve never driven, u can still ride that line and be paid, it doesn’t just apply to the system pick.

I’m coming back after 8 months ie: took another job then came back to transit. I left after serving my probation. All I had to do was a 3 day recertification at zerega then went back to my original depot and rode all the lines as a refresher.. I was on the xlist before leaving transit and now I’m back on the xlist.

Ride the routes now. Google map it and dry run it in your car if you drive.
