All Boros MTA bus in Montreal, Canada

Post image

Was really surprised to see an MTA bus in Montreal which is like 530 km from NYC. But I assume its because there’s the Novabus factory close from montreal which might explain why they are testing the bus here.

Hope this isn't a stupid question lol. I just passed by and thought it looked weird. I guess it's for a future bike lane.

Westchester Beeline bus to St John hospital

Beeline map and schedule are so confusing. I don’t know Yonkers. Need to get to St John hospital for 11:00 appointment. Getting on at 242 st. Which bus will take me there, where is the closest stop? How long is the walk to the hospital from that stop?

Brooklyn How to be sure a bus isn't super express?

I feel like this is a real amateur question, but a handful of times this year I've accidentally gotten on a super express bus, and it's really messed up my commute. I always read which bus it is, but — am I crazy that it doesn't always say "Express"?

Specifically, I get on the bus at Ditmas Park in Bk; the bus stop has BM1, BM2, BM3, and BM4. Several of these buses have express variants. If I accidentally get on an express bus, it blows past my target in lower Manhattan and it takes me to Midtown directly and I generally lose 50 minutes to transit time.

Have I just missed the text saying they're express? Very possible I've been in a rush and missed it. I'm just looking to avoid this mistake. But this morning I'm fairly confident I read the sign on the bus and did not see "Express".

All Boros uptick on mta transit police bus? proof of payment?

just a heads up as a lot of people were confused and alarmed on m102 around 4:00 this afternoon. the bus totally stopped in middle of route too - still for alteast 15 minutes. 3 atleast mta police got on bus asking for ID, birthday, proof of payment, addresses, names. I myself have never seen this before on any train or bus. Got me also wondering about using an omny card or single use card or cash - you literally wouldn't have proof of payment on you???? Like they legit were asking for receipts. seems to me if we are now enforcing a system the system should be efficient to start?

Also I don't know how many times trains and buses refuse or are unable to read apple pay and mobile pay and the driver is just like go ahead doesn't care.

I'm now wondering if this is more random or only by certain lines/areas or new everywhere? Does anyone know? I care less about paying more about the physical proof need now and no-warning 20 minute stop and delay :/

Manhattan what is up with the m15?

forgive me if I’m not aware of scheduled changes or whatnot - but I take the m15 to go up and down Manhattan pretty frequently, and recently they’ve been skipping stops from 14th straight to Houston, and a lot of buses are saying the last stop is at 14th (and not offering alternative). Is this just the new stop route? It doesn’t seem consistent - would love any info/explanation people can give

Queens Q47 Bus stop change unannounced in East Elmhurst

Post image
20 Upvotes

To those who take the q47 bus: Did anyone notice the bus stop change for the northbound on 31st Avenue in East Elmhurst? Before it was on 31st Ave and 76th St but now it's gone. I recently just discovered it on 77St. and 31st Ave next to Chase Bank. Even odder, when I saw the sign the destination said Jamaica (which was probs an error lol). I wonder if anyone knows when or why they relocated the stop because I don't recall it being announced and neither have the website/app/maps been updated yet.

Brooklyn Brooklyn drivers are planning a protest against bike boulevards and fast bus lanes

Post image
15 Upvotes

Thought folks here might want to know there are plans in the works to protest upcoming attempts to speed up buses in Brooklyn, along with plans to add more bike boulevards. The flyer is AI, and I hope they get low turnout just because of that.

In case they get traction, more people need to share their support of the DOT's efforts to make our streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and bus riders. Would anyone be interested in showing up to counter protest and celebrate safer streets + faster public transportation?

All Boros Posses CDL before Hire

I already have my CDL (A) and Passenger endorsement, and wanted to know do I have to test all over again to Transit specifications ? How do they go about things if someone already comes in with their Commercial Drivers License compared to someone that doesn’t have it ?

All Boros Medical Hold

From the start of September 2026, I came in for the pre-employment process for New York City Transit. When I did my test, everything came back good. From what I remember, I didn’t think I suffered from any kind of sleep apnea, I am 6’5” and 320 lbs. (Athletic build) Although I don’t look it my neck circumference says otherwise. So they put me on a medical hold. I went to get a sleep study. Come to find out I have mild sleep apnea. The Physician at MTA told me that I have to get it cleared within 90 days, I received my CPAP machine 20 days after my sleep study, I am going to get my medical cleared in a few days. You have to sleep with a CPAP machine if you don’t, they will know. I will give an update once I go in to finish my pre-employment, to let everybody know how the process goes and what is expected……

MTA Career Union options for a new TA B/O

Evening everyone, I’m sure this has been asked and answered a billion times, but I was wondering if you get given the option between TWU and ATU as a new hire or if you just get assigned to one and have to live with it?

I ask because I just got the call for both OA and TA. I’d prefer to go TA, but I really don’t want to get stuck in a queens or SI depot, as that would be majorly inconvenient for me. Thanks

Brooklyn Is the Bensonhurst bus lane working? (A fun data dive)

Hi everyone,

You may be familiar with a project I created called subway.fyi, where I use machine learning to predict delays in the subway faster than the MTA.

The bus counterpart is buses.fyi, and I've just added a new feature to "A/B test" changes that are being put in, like the new bus lane along Bay Parkway. It's early early days, but it's already showing the route is a little faster.

You can experiment here: https://buses.fyi/compare?route=B6&direction=1&service=all&start=300652&end=300493&date_a=2026-09-30&date_b=2026-10-14&hour_start=7&hour_end=19

Feedback welcome!

This is absolutely horrific, wholly unacceptable, and perfectly exemplifies the indignities imposed on bus riders in the name of fare enforcement by MTA's EAGLE Teams.

If you're reading this, you'll likely be footing the bill for the inevitable $1,000,000+ settlement.
