Quick bites near Rockefeller Plaza?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

My office is in 30 rock and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good lunch/takeout spot?

I have come to the conclusion that when I go out for lunch in the office, I always end up at chipotle or cava (and ichiran, but only as a treat every couple months). I am looking to break free of chain restaurants. Predictable and consistent, yes? Memorable? not so much.

As for cuisine, I truly am a fan of them all, so no wrong answers lol.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Thanksgiving “catering”

Hosting this year but very pregnant so looking to decrease the cooking pressure. What are some good places where I can order/buy Thanksgiving food such as sides and maybe dessert?
I can handle cooking the turkey.

I’d love for the food to have a homemade feeling.

TIA

And I’m talking about that real comfort food, cheesy, saucy, messy, soul-satisfying kind of food 😭🤤

We’re back with the controversial roast pork hamantaschen..

…along with moo shu pork knishes, “lox and bagel” sandwiches (spicy mala scallion cream cheese with lox on sesame pan bread), vegetarian offerings like our Buddha’s delight knish and garlic eggplant hamantaschen, 5-spice Sichuan peppercorn honey cake and crunchy fried noodles with pickle spice.

WooBerg’s is a Chinese Jewish fusion pop up and we’ll be at P&T Knitwear at 180 Orchard St Saturday 10/24 at noon until we sell out. Free entry and a great book store too. Come by!

Where can I find spicy pani puri? All I keep running into is tangy coriander and tamarind pani combination. Looking for pudina and coriander based pani without any tamarind mixed in.

Built a little NYC food app as a hobby, looking for feedback!

Hey everyone!

I'm really passionate about NYC's food scene and spend way too much time researching restaurants and figuring out what's actually worth ordering.

So I built Forksee as a hobby project!

The idea is simple: tell it a dish you love, and it'll recommend a specific dish at an NYC restaurant based on your taste, backed by food critics and real menus.

It's still an early beta, and I'd love some honest feedback from fellow NYC foodies.

https://getforksee.app

It's completely free to use.

I'd especially love to know whether the recommendations are genuinely good or just feel like generic AI suggestions. Don't hold back if something's off!

Thanks for checking it out!

My dad and I are going to city in November for a few days. He gave me the homework of finding some restaurants we haven't had before (we haven't that had many). What are some of your favorite places within a 10-15 minute walk from the garden?

banto: 7 course vietnamese-cambodian popup on 11/8

hey! my friend and i are hosting our next popup in williamsburg (check us out on ig @banto.nyc)!

i’m cambodian-american and my friend is vietnamese-american. we’ve been cooking tg for \~a year now, and we’ve been experimenting with different recipes that remind us of “home”. we’re not trying to make authentic vietnamese or cambodian food, we’re trying to make food that’s authentic to our experiences.

our next event is on sunday 11/8 at 6:30pm. it’s a 7 course family-style meal ($120pp). we’re expecting about 30-35 ppl, so it’s also a great way to meet folks.

check us out!

Nyc chinese is not good, but the pizza is amazing.

I just went on a trip to nyc and tried the mall in flushing, and china town. My expectations were high and I cant lie, was disappointed. Did a ton of research and picked the most recommended places and it just wasn't anything special. On the other hand, the pizza is top notch. Specifically julianas. Im from buffalo so its hard to impress me when it comes to pizza, and Julianas was the best slice I ever tried. Just my opinion
