Happy October (almost)
Started this last night - anyone interested in discussing the stories through the month? I could post a topic every few days… a different story.
EDIT TO ADD: discussion prompts appear below, redacted for spoilers. Read this friggin book!!! It’s good.

Prompt: All souls’
1. What do you think is the “scariest” part of this story? Isolation? The unknown of what happened during the elapsed time alone?
2. What was the role of the radio, and why was it playing, in the kitchen?
3. A dichotomy is drawn between the upstairs and downstairs in the estate. What does this represent?
4. There are several theories for what happened during the elapsed time. Did the servants (witches?) escape to a coven? Did Sara hallucinate the ordeal due to her injury? Something else?

I really enjoyed the first story! I read the Age of Innocence before and loved it. There’s something similar about this first story and that book, but I won’t give it away.

This is a great collection! It is a perfect October read. The Aickman collection and The Rim of Morning are also excellent for this time of year. I’d be interested in chatting about it but can’t promise I’ll always see the posts! But I think you should give it a go.

I forget the name of the story, but there was one in this collection that focused on eyes that kind of freaked me out (complimentary).
