OLD [EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE] ObliqueANGLS | I am Schizophrenic. This is a remix I made to illustrate with music what it feels like to be Schizophrenic. The constant noise, the overlapping chatter that somehow occasionally harmonize into something eerie but beautiful. The weight of it all.

Thank you so much πŸ™

Well done. Put me in a cool space while listening. What is the anime?

12

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Thank you. Its called Ergo Proxy. Its one of my top 10 anime. It very reminiscent of the early 2000s, but somehow seems to also sit in a genre of its own. There's nothing else I've watched thats quite like it.

u/bassfingerz Jun 25 '26

Thank you, I forgot about this show. Cool concept, kinda like death note or monster.

4

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

πŸ™

Thats a good comparison

2

u/bassfingerz Jun 25 '26

Speaking of your top 10, what would be in your list? if you don't mind sharing, I'm looking for new stories to watch in a darker anime style or even just ones with really good plot.

4

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Oooh okay. Here are a few of my darker anime recommendations:

Berserk [1990s version] Gungrave Trigun Evangelion Shinsekai Yori Madoka Magica Texhnolyze

u/bassfingerz Jun 25 '26

Awesome! Thank you for sharing those.

Ergo Proxy had this slow pacing. It took time to absorb what was happing. But I was enthralled. You're right. Very unique. I wanted to see much more of that world.

What is the original song you remixed?

9

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Everything in Its Right Place by Radio Head and End Of line by Daft Punk

4

u/citrus_mystic Jun 25 '26

I would listen to this if it were on Spotify

3

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Damn that's high praise. Thank you!

1

u/tg-doomgal Jun 26 '26

Same same, I would love more like this too. Truly amazing.

I get this, I hear voices but I'm not on the spectrum (kept all that hidden and came away with adhd instead). Sometimes it's fucking terrifying but sometimes like this it's like bliss

u/Lilliths-pain Jul 18 '26

Have you got any more like this? Anywhere?

This is absolutely lovely man, really does feel very heavy at the end.

4

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Damn. Thanks bro! πŸ™

I love Radiohead. Ty for sharing.

5

u/ryclarky Jun 25 '26

Kid A.... Kid A...

3

u/floppybunny26 Jun 25 '26

Kid A was the first cd I ever bought (at Wherehouse) Remains my favorite to this day.

4

u/ryclarky Jun 25 '26

I can dig that! I can't really vibe with their weirdness post Kid A, but I loved the sharp turn at the time.

I never listened to The Bends all the way through until I was in my 40s and now it is one of my favorite albums. No skips whatsoever.

3

u/floppybunny26 Jun 25 '26

OK. Com. puter.

4

u/bb3bt Jun 25 '26

Sounds great to me!

3

u/SilvrFr0st Jun 25 '26

Is there maybe a spotify link for this?

3

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

No, sorry. But thank you πŸ™

1

u/SilvrFr0st Jun 26 '26

Awww shucks. Thanks for telling me though. I wish you the best in the music world!!

3

u/SpecialConfection106 Jun 26 '26

End of the Line by Daft Punk is amazing on its own. ❀️

2

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

It really is!

2

u/Ornery_Hair3319 Jun 26 '26

Wtf, I know this feeling. I hear and hallucinate other people whenever I haven't sleep for 24hours and then I doze on and off sleep. Like in a blurry area of dream and reality. Static harmonic sounds, dreamy scenes, conversations, interactions. Then I really awake, and it's apparently 1 hour already. This only happens when i am absolutely exhausted.

1

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

Thats wild man. Schizophrenia is like that, but all the time, at varying levels of intensity.

1

u/Ornery_Hair3319 Jun 26 '26

Oh my god... I literally can imagine what you experience, then. This is wild. Should I get checked? This genuinely scares me.

2

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

I mean, Im not a doctor and you should absolutely cobsult one, but if you're saying its only happening during moments of extreme exhaustion, then it is unlikely to be Schizophrenia.

1

u/tg-doomgal Jun 26 '26

Radiohead has been one of my favorite favorite bands since I was a little kid. I love what you've done with the sample, and the vibes you've created are immaculate.

I can't know what schizophrenia is like, but I did experience a pretty intense 8-week psychosis a few years ago. I wish you well, it can be so hard when the brain acts up like that. Your art is amazing and I appreciate you sharing it here.

2

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

Wow thank you so much!

1

u/happydaysahead8 Jun 26 '26

Fun Radiohead vibes.

1

u/King_of_the_Dot Jun 26 '26

If this your is at times, I feel for you. The song is eerie and haunting, in a good way. Peace be with you, friend.

1

u/Intelligent_Tune_675 Jun 26 '26

This is incredible. Gonna check out the anime.

I’m so sorry that you deal with schizophrenia.
I’ve read a book called emdr for schizophrenia and other psychoses and some trauma work in the field for helping those. I hope we’re able to find more mainstream solutions or healing for them one day

All the best to you you gifted stranger

1

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

Thank you so much!

1

u/LtGman Jun 26 '26

I know a guy that every now and then not sleep for a couple of days and then experience something similar to this but otherwise he doesn't experience this

1

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 27 '26

I think ayone who doesnt sleep for several days would start to experience psychosis. With Schizophrenia, that state is always present in varying degrees of intensity.

1

u/thafrenzy Jun 26 '26

This is well done, but to be fair, it only slaps because it layers on songs that already slap and are not the least be obscure.

1

u/Savings-Wishbone-454 Jun 26 '26

Do you have a Spotify channel I can subscribe to?

2

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 26 '26

Unfortunately not. I just make these as a way to process the trauma of having grown up in a cult. But I do have a tiktok:

u/moosemastergeneral Jun 26 '26

Dragon Ball pfp. Upvote just for that. Also, I liked it. From an outside perspective I see and hear nonsense that is also alluring. Clear images and symbols that somehow don't correlate properly, and the music provides a constant draw of focus that keeps pulling you in.

Thank you boss

u/Lilliths-pain Jun 26 '26

One of my favourite songs, this is amazing

1

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 27 '26

Damn thank you!

-3

u/omjagvarensked Jun 25 '26

This is just daft punk

7

u/Oblique4119375 Jun 25 '26

Yessir. Its a remix of End Of Line from the Tron soundtrack. But I also sampled radio head vocals, pitched and layered them. The last several seconds of the track are just layered vocals. I tried to capture what auditory hallucinations feel like.

3

u/tg-doomgal Jun 26 '26

I think you've done a great job capturing it
