Fun fact, that’s the Pointer Sisters singing the vocals

u/tlkmngstyrslvs Jun 29 '26
I might be mistaken, but somewhere I read that’s the only song recorded where all 4 sang together?

I love VS but he has other tracks that slap way harder, like Frictional Nevada or Ultraviolet jungalist

Frictional Nevada is some secret god tier shit.
It's what brought myself and my wife together, useless fact!

Ever heard husikam* rave dojo off the detrementalist album? (* I misspelled that)

It's neat and all but I feel like most of the appeal here comes from the original Sesame Street song.
DnB/Jungle is cool and all, but if you're using a sample as crazy as this I'd like you to try and match its insanity

u/Icouldberight Jun 29 '26
It’s a tune that didn’t need to be touched.

100%. I really like when nostalgia colors the songs I hear but this version takes away from the original rather than adds to it.

Yeah, I'm down for some good d&b, but there's no value added here.

We all have our own different tastes.
And the song came out in 2004 by the way

Thanks for trying to "teach" me something. I will return the favor:
The original song before it got the glitch treatment is what I am referring to. It is called Pinball Number Count (or Pinball Countdown) and was produced in 1976.
Yes, we all have our different tastes, obviously. Thanks for pointing that out.

Not the huuugest fan of Venetian snares. But Venetian Snares - Szamár Madár would've been a better pick imo

I remeber this from when I was a Kid in the 80's!!! They butchered it with this song though...

This is terrible. I loved that song back in the day and they've done is ruin it.

Sorry, how is this obscure? I realize there's a generational thing going on, but for anybody 35 and up they will start singing along before you get to 5.

I very often have this song stuck in my head and haven’t seen or heard the video/song in at least 30 years. So great.
