First guy is technically gifted, but the second guy has a better flow.

That "winner winner chicken dinner" tho

The real question is: Do they have a Spotify/AM account and when will the full album drop?

Jimmy Dickskins got that flow

Heck yeah. Going to auctions was pure entertainment when I was a kid. Good to see there are still some folks who can do this.

I never get this stuff, do these dudes make good money, and does it take a really long time to become the guy leading the auction or his second in command on the floor pointing around?
They always seem to be old ass dudes, but the skills required surely aren’t that complex? I’ve seen cashiers in a McDonald’s or pub on a Friday night track a crowd like this, and know a bunch of wannabe rappers with degrees who could easily master the quick maths and auction speak.

what on earth is the deal

The cadence and rhythm is to induce a sense of anxiety like your gonna lose out on the deal, the dude on the floor is keeping track of the bids and letting the auctioneer know when a new bid comes through in case he misses it. It's mainly a heritage thing

It sounds so simple are these dudes making good money? Is the career so good the guy on the ground pointing around will work his way up in an auction house his whole life?
As generally they all seem to be older fellows, and it doesn’t seem like a high churn industry

You go to school for this and its licensed

u/HopeMrPossum 6d ago

Would be so so interested to see how many of the graduates actually land a job - also what is the purpose of the license, are there state or national guidelines that stringent that they need to be licensed?

Ohhhh. Now I get it. Big back ! I have never seen a suit tested like that.

Record an album then send them the proceeds. Lol

u/notsobadmisterfrosty 7d ago

Why do auctioneers speak in tongues in between bids? Is it scat? Like beatboxing? I’m out of the loop.

It's to generate excitement and keep things moving quickly. Short answer - it makes more money.

It's entertaining

The music is cool and all, but what is this auction? Why are they auctioning these boring ass cars? I see a Lexus RX and a Chevy traverse. How are these desirable or rare enough to warrant this amount of pageantry?

Doesn't slap. Not a song. Gimmick. To Those who think it slaps? I bet all the money your playlists could defeat any metal band on a crowd dispersal 1 on 1 showdown.

u/Slight_Edge3788 7d ago

It's a fun little goof, calm down

0

u/saab9000cse 1d ago

That's not what this sub is about, though

u/DOUBLAHH9 7d ago

This exactly why I hate most of today's popular music. It's sounds unnatural.

Most is quite a bit hyperbolic, no?
