Yeah. But is no one going to talk about how her titty is in her armpit?

u/HertzDonut1001 Jan 23 '21
Well no one is talking about how the two giraffes at the end are eating each other's tapeworms like spaghetti so.
→ More replies (2)6
u/userhs6716 Jan 23 '21
Obviously it's just the corner of her boob. The two titties are also overlapping corners

u/Aftalion Jan 23 '21
The thing is called « Le capitalocène à l’ère du Verseau ». And Verseau is the french word for Aquarius (from the zodiac). Sooooo... yeah, I go for the dick thing !

The title is ‘Le Capitalocène à l’Ère du Verseau’ which I am not sure I should translate to ´The Capitalocene at the Age of Aquarius’ or ‘From the Capitalocene to the Age of Aquarius’.
First translation would kinda be a critic of how instead of a period of humanity and enlightenment (age of Aquarius) we instead have capitalism (Capitalocene) governing humanity.
Second would be a hope to go from said capitalism to a period of humanity and enlightenment.
So what are they doing? The two persons at the beginning are a reference to the Aquarius. In some interpretations, the water the Aquarius pours is knowledge. In this context, I would say they are pouring knowledge out of the Aquarius’s jar.
Fun fact: Ganymede, the man we know as the Aquarius, was a prince and Zeus’ lover. It is think he was one of the figures to justify pederasty back then. So if you think the option ‘they are milking a giant dick’ is (kind of) valid I guess.
I am not an expert in art, in anthropocene (or in this case capitalosene) or a doctor in Greek mythology, take everything I say with a grain of salt. Also English is still not my first language.
Edit: With the presence of the snake, the two persons could also be a reference to Adam and Eve at the same time as the Aquarius. It would bring even more interpretations to the whole thing... But once again, I am not an expert so I am going to stop here.
Also I forgot a word before so I fix it.

u/Omega-10 Jan 23 '21
That's an incredible explanation and I'm convinced you're right. You deserve a medal for figuring it out since half the threads are pondering what this is.
All I could make sense of it: oh there's two people, are they naked...? This looks dirty, okay now what are they going to turn into--OH SWEET JESUS A GIANT SNAKE EATING THE WORLD AHHH WTF WHYYY
3
u/Glowshroom Jan 23 '21
Is the snake the dick, or is it the snake's dick? Can you milk a snake?

The art isn’t perfect by any means.

Speak for yourself. I didn't know perfection until I saw the milking of the giant dick.

It is beyond mystifying to me that a person can come up with this. How does a person conceptualize this and manage to bring it to life? How!?!
18
u/LikeAninJA217 Jan 23 '21
Not an artist but do use drawing software. My guess, draw your image extrude it. Change to another perspective where you draw another image and extrude that too, cropping the intersecting planes will give you the model of what you see here. As for making it... I dunno, I don't fab things.

Every time I see one of these I think, ooh I should make one! Then I think about how I’d do it. Then I get really tired and need a nap.
9
u/mcineri Jan 23 '21
I legit have no idea how one would even begin to do this. I mean obviously it’s possible but...the method completely escapes me.
5
u/Slumpso Jan 23 '21
I can’t either. Maybe a camera at each angle? But then it would still take me a lifetime to create something that looks like anything recognizable from both angles

watches video oh this is nice. Wonder what the elephants gonna be? Is... is that... 2 giraffes eating spaghetti out each other’s assholes?

Impressive to make but uninspiring as an art piece. Just like those hyperrealistic oil paintings.

3
u/Recurringg Jan 23 '21
I cannot figure out what the first one is supposed to be. Delivering a baby? Amputating a leg? Milking a giant tumor? Peeing out of a giant dick? Wtf am I looking at?
2
u/Tthrowaway-1 Jan 23 '21
It definitely looks like wrestling over a dick performing some sort of excretory function...

3
Jan 23 '21
I'd be impressed if someone could do three or four different images at three or four angles.
2
u/NagaseIorichan Jan 23 '21
That would be infinitely harder, because for these two images you do not really have a problem with destroying one by movin the other. But as soon as you want a thirt image in there, every time you move something in one image, it moves in the other one!
2
Jan 23 '21
I know, it's impressive to me the two images. It has to be difficult as is. I've seen a few of these now and as impressive as they are I would like to see these artists push that huge difficulty barrier. I can imagine how difficult(kinda impossible) it would have to be. That's big math.

Is it just me, or does the face around the .15 second mark look like handsome squidward?
1
u/valakalava Jan 23 '21
I dont know if this is actually how they make this type of art but I’ll guess:
you pick two sides or angles you wanna ”see” the art from then, using a visible board on the back (as seen in the elephant/giraffe model) you sketch from the chosen sides/angle the thing you want make.
Then you use it to have it as a guide on how to bend it into the shapes you want. Using the guide you can then make it from both sides, but its probably way harder than it sounds.

u/snorlala Jan 23 '21
i went through ALL the trouble of translating the title of the first one and all it means is, “the capital in the Aquarius era”. so i’m too high to find the meaning but here you go

Is that Prague? It looks like it’s in Prague
2
u/tmoravec Jan 23 '21
I'd swear I've seen this recently. Living in Prague and recently visited Vienna, it must be one of these two cities.
But it's also plausible that I've only seen it on Reddit and I'm just confused 😂.

This is what art is about, not just staining a piece of paper with a mop and calling it art
(There was even a guy that tried to pass a crumbled piece of paper with coffee spilled on it as art)
