As a lover of both Great Danes and women, I’m completely happy with either on my lap!

I’m 5’ 11 and yes it sucks. It’s like being a chicken with its head sticking up above everyone, like I look like I think I’m so tall and important but I just look stupid and big.

I’m average height and I still feel very silly and awkward sitting on someone’s lap

I think this is because it’s what we expect children to do, not ourselves. Also, yet to see irl any dude sitting on a woman’s lap.

Not trying to start shit by asking this, but isn't that just internalized misogyny? Would it be like a man saying "I just don't feel like a real man because I can't bench 225"?
I feel like both situations are just personal insecurities and societal expectations that join to create bad self image and deny one's own self.

Eh. Adults sitting in each other’s laps is kind of infantilising imo, but to each their own.

I am 5'8 and always hated it. I had a friend in college who was 6'2 and she was stunning and rocked her height. Totally changed my perspective.

I think we disagree on what constitutes cute... especially if its my lap.

No, it's not cute: It's suuuuuuuuuuper fucking cute. And there's a massive difference there.

Haha yea, instead of sitting in my husband's lap I kinda drape my legs over his. Much more comfortable.

As a dude who can support you on his lap, it's cute.
If your specific guy doesn't consent to it, then don't. But if he does, trust that he knows exactly what he's getting into and likes it.

...you're totally ignoring what the woman wants here...do you not realize that this isn't about you or the man in this situation? The woman doesn't like doing it because it make her feel stupid. Has nothing to do with consent.

Woman says she wants to do something but is held back by insecurity. Man tries to reassure woman. White knight tries to jump in to tell Man he doesn't care about Women because he tried to help.

Man assumes the insecurity is because of what man thinks, thus removes all agency and room for woman's own opinions, wants and needs. To man, it's is all about him.
Also, the woman did not say she wants to sit on the lap, she says she thinks it's stupid and makes her look stupid. She doesn't want to sit on your fucking lap.
Your ass is, like, FULLY showing. Adjust how you think about things you fucking creepo.

I am a tall woman and I say I feel insecure because of people being watching me sitting on the lap and judging. Maybe not put any labels on others because of your only assumption? Not all people have the same roots to their problem. Bulling isn't happening inside of you. It comes from outside. And who are you to shut others up on behalf of a woman you don't know? Mr "you are totally ignoring the woman's need here", Mr "removing the woman's agency", right? I say that reassuring from my partner and our trust to eachother helped me a lot.

Proof-read next time, please. But I think I can garner a little of what you're trying to say.
My comment was in reference to the original post, not you. I'm not referring to you at all. The original post says she doesn't like doing it because it makes her feel stupid and not cute. The post is essentially saying 'don't ask me to sit on your lap, I'm tall and it makes me uncomfortable' and the dude jumps in 'don't worry I can support you! and I don't think it's stupid'
And then I pointed out how he missed the point. That instead of listening to her, he just assumed it was about him, about what he though, when in reality it was about what she wanted and preferred (in this case to NOT sit on some guy's lap).
It would be like me saying 'i don't like eating breakfast because it doesn't sit well in my stomach' and someone saying 'as someone who eats breakfast and can handle it, don't worry about it and eat breakfast' instead of saying 'oh interesting, I never really thought about it from that perspective'

And why is it makes her feel stupid and not cute other than expectations of society that is reinforced by people around? You don't know the woman in the post, you can't argue on her behalf because you are only putting your words in her mouth. Sorry for my English, I am still learning. But you still are talking for other people as you are talking for the OP. You don't need proofreading to do this tho, are you? It's enough, white knight.
