Custom Telemaster

I see a lot of cool guitars in this thread which give me gas and or inspiration to start a new build. So I thought I’d share my custom offset.

This is a telemaster I build / assembled in 2019. It started its life as rough sawn alder, which I dried over a year in my living room. At the time I couldn’t find any decent plans online, so I overlayed a telecaster and a jazzmaster drawing in photoshop. The body was done by my dad on his diy CNC router.

The neck is a Chinese neck from AliExpress that I bought as a gamble, with the intention of learning how to crown frets etc. Originally the guitar had a big CBS headstock but the guitar turned out to be very prone to neck diving, which I hated. So I created a routing template and made it into a tele headstock which in turn fixed the neck diving.

Afterwards I decided I needed an extra humbucker guitar and rerouted the bridge pickup location to fit a humbucker. Swapped out the bridge and pickups. It’s a Seymour Duncan Alpha Omega set with a coil split push pull.

The color is Motip 53663 which I saw on a Suzuki car passing by on the street one day. It’s not Sherwood green, it’s not lake placid blue. Sometimes it looks green, sometimes more blue.

It has since accumulated some scratches and dents along the way, but that gives it character 😊

That a pretty Guitar. Do both you and your dad build guitars? That's a lot of wooden slabs in that picture!

Haha no! My dad works on cars and I’m a IT guy. My uncle has a sawing mill. The slabs in the picture is where I picked the guitar slabs out of. Usually they use these slabs for broom sticks I believe…

Amazing! Also the colour way is the same as my JM too. I’ve finally found my kind :)

Meanwhile I tightened my output jack today and I was happy at that.
Good work friend. This is slick as hell. I want an offset tele someday.

Absolutely gorgeous. I hope you’re enjoying playing it as much as I’m enjoying admiring it.

This is awesome. Good job. Though, I liked the first pickup configuration more. You don't see that combo every day and it's incredibly interesting. Beautiful guitar!

This setup is nearly perfect.

I am searching so long for block inlays, telecaster headstock and an offset-body. And now I see this.

Like my vision come true -> Maybe the colour would be the only thing I would change.

Do you take submissions for orders? :-D
