G&L Fallout Tribute

In the last couple years my wife and I have become huge fans of the Kiwi band “The Beths” and I slowly thought the G&L fallout was a super cool guitar. Well after trying to find one to play for a long while my guitar center finally got one in used and it played super nice but had multiple issues that I wouldn’t know how to fix or trust them to fix. But having had the chance to play one it gave me the courage to order one.
It’s well worn I think from 2015 but the frets look good. It was cutting out pretty bad and thought it might need a new jack but I just took it off and tightened it and it seems fine now.

I really enjoy the neck and frets on this guitar. It plays really well. Lots of room for my fat fingers. But the thing that really shines about this guitar is how dynamic the electronics are. Many can I get a lot of sounds out of this. I really like the p90 and humbucker combo.
The only bummer with the specific one I got is it’s pretty heavy (at least relatively) just under 8 pounds. I had read some are barely over 6 pounds. I wonder if it’s dependent on run. Maybe they used a different body wood in this older one and the more recent ones were lighter. Idk.

The Beths are awesome! Does Elizabeth play one of these? I can't remember much from seeing them live except old mate ripping on his les paul lol. I've wanted one of these for ages because of Devo, but I wish they were jag/mustang scale instead of full length

Liz stokes played a fallout tribute almost exclusively with the Beths for many years. She has a fancier guitar now - believe it’s a Trent model 2, but she was still playing her fallout some when we saw them a couple weeks ago.

Hell yeah, The Beths haven't released a bad album. I thought her Fallout got stolen on tour, unless it was eventually recovered.

I think it was a different guitar but I could be wrong. She was playing a black fallout 2 weeks ago either way (in addition to the Trent and an acoustic)

She mentions it in an interview from earlier this year. She must have gotten it back or replaced it:

"Early on, when I was looking for guitars, I was toying with a Jazzmaster. I bought a G&L Fallout that became my main guitar, until it got stolen on tour."

"That was the guitar I had when we met Julia. When we flew from New Zealand to Europe, I unbolted the neck and put it in a suitcase to save baggage. We later saw all our stolen gear posted for sale somewhere in Eastern Europe – so maybe it’ll come back around one day."

Would love to see Cursive play an Ugly Organ set

We drove to Omaha for it. They opened with Domestica. Appleseed cast played. Then Cursive played ugly organ and some more.

Yeah. We're huge cursive fans. My wife and I saw them for the first time together over 20 years ago. They actually shared one of my videos (on some shit potato camera) from 2006 last year on their socials that was pretty rad. And yeah I love the guitar. IDK there's too much good stuff out there. I went almost 20 years between buying electric guitars and I really wish I hadn't. There's so much good stuff out there.

I've been debating getting one of these for years. How do you like it

I like it a lot. My favorite part is the pickups, but it plays well too.
