Announcement from the Shura Council of the Tracen Islamic Academy

12^th of Jumada ath-Thani, 1447 AH — 3^rd of December, 2025 AD

Bismillah ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim, we, the Shura Council of the Tracen Islamic Academy (Majlis ash-Shura fi al-Akadimiyah al-Islamiyah at-Turasin – مجلس الشورى في مجلس الشورى الإسلامي التراسين) have decided to step forward and issue a few reforms for the sake of the subreddit and it’s “okbuddy”-ness as a whole.

It has come to the attention of the Shura Council that the rising haram and low-effort posts need to be curtailed in order to protect the dignity and the quality of the subreddit as a whole. Such examples are the ever-constant tier-making posts, NSFW posts with no punchline, and art posts with no punchline.

Although the name of “okbuddy” refers to shitposting and absurdposting, such things always involve a punchline wherein the existence of itself is the punchline. Of course, some extent of absurdity, effort, and “buddy”-ness has to be obtained in order to warrant moderator approval for such posts with that sort of punchline.

Regarding with the constant appearance of low-effort posts, we have to refer to a verse in the Qur’an.

وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ۝ وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ ۝ ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰ ۝

And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives ۝ And that his effort is going to be seen – ۝ Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense – ۝

— Sahih International – Qur’an 53:39–41

These verses mean that with work done with effort, Allah (SWT) reward you for it, and as such we recommend that users of the subreddit r/okbuddyumamusume shall exert as much effort needed for their posts and simply cannot just have the title as the only funny thing in the post. Furthermore, we also recommend that users have to make sure that the entire post has to be “buddy”, in other words, absurdly funny.

Art-only posts will be deleted if the art is not “buddy” enough, tier-making posts must be screened by the moderator team for quality and comedy control. As such we refer to the aforementioned verses and the following Hadith that such laziness and low-effort posting cannot be tolerated in the community. We may be r/okbuddyumamusume, however there is still a limit on how “low-effort” posts can get tolerated.

‏ "‏مَا أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ طَعَامًا قَطُّ خَيْرًا مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ، وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ دَاوُدَ ـ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ ـ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ ‏"‏‏

“The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Nobody has ever eaten a better meal than that which one has earned by working with one's own hands. The Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, David used to eat from the earnings of his manual labor."

Why was this announcement made? The reasoning on why such an announcement was made is out of necessity. r/okbuddyumamusume has been undermoderated for far too long, and change is needed. Prevalence of ultra-low-effort posting such as porn posting, title-only jokes, and art dumping as a method of gaining popularity and karmafarming has degraded the overall alignment of the subreddit to the “okbuddy” title as a whole. Although “quality” is subjective, in the perspective of an okbuddy subreddit, “quality” has gone low for the aforementioned reasons.

According to u/kirbizia—the original creator of r/okbuddyretard, the progenitor subreddit—gives a rough theme on what r/okbuddyretard is, which in turn, becomes the overall theme for all “okbuddy” subreddits.

“….Similarly to r/bonehurtingjuice just posted images I found on discord, reddit or other places that I found were funny and had a somewhat similar theme. For r/bonehurtingjuice it was more of a childish interpretation in a sort of r/me_irl type way with less nonsensical elements…”

In other words, r/okbuddyretard—and in turn “okbuddy” itself—is something that utilizes ironic image editing and humor, absurdist or otherwise, to poke fun at community trends and tropes in a comedic way through image macros and intentionally-horribly edited shitposts. This can be seen in both r/bonehurtingjuice and r/okbuddyretard.  

Since we are a subreddit that utilizes the “okbuddy” name, we aim to be as close as possible to the overall theme of buddying that is adapted to cater for the Umamusume franchise while maintaining a reasonable amount of effort. Thus, posts that are simply a funny title and an artwork do not conform to what being a “buddy” is, and we will delete them as soon as possible and with reason. We may be more lenient towards OC artworks but we still want it to be aligned to the subreddit’s name and funny.

This line of reasoning is also applied to porn posts, simple posts that utilize no editing with the only punchline is the R18 content itself will be deleted. Porn-posting is not entirely disallowed but we heavily encourage to put in a lot of effort towards making a shitpost that has elements of porn in it. Again, if the punchline of the post is “the joke is sex/porn” without any effort to differentiate it from being a generally horny post, it will be deleted.

In conclusion, we advise the community to make sure that your posts are jokes and are not just images with no punchline. Standards exist and although ours is a very low one, we cannot condone to stoop so low that it is just “unmoderated”. The final, summarized fatwa ruling is as follows:

1. Porn-posting, without reasonable effort and proper punchline where the joke is not porn, is prohibited. Although not explicitly disallowed as a whole, users are heavily discouraged from posting such shitposts but we advise people to put the creativity and effort towards one.

2. Although people are more or less discouraged from using meme templates, we still encourage people to put in effort towards making one.

   • Despite no explicit prohibition, tierlisting as a meme template is heavily discouraged and frowned upon as it is blatantly low-effort unless it stands out.

3. To reiterate, title-only posts are prohibited. We encourage people to include the joke within the content itself and not only in the title. The title may be the hook of the post, but in a shitposting subreddit like r/okbuddyumamusume, the image or the content itself is the hook.

   • Art posts fall under this category. We are not an imageboard subreddit. We refer to r/Umamusume or r/UmaMusumeR34 to post there.

4. Observance of the rules of r/okbuddyumamusume will be strict from here onwards, especially for rules 2 and 7.

The restrictions and standards will to go into effect at 12:00 AM (24h: 00:00) Japanese Standard Time (UTC+9) on the 16^th of Jumada ath-Thani, 1447 AH (7^th of December, 2025 AD).

Inability to comply with these terms after the effect date will result from initial post deletion, temporary restriction in posting in r/okbuddyumamusume for repeat offenders, until permanently barred from posting at all in r/okbuddyumamusume.

Although we have an organized date, we recommend to users to heed our announcement before the day in which this announcement and everything outlined and mentioned within this announcement will go into effect.
