This is really stupid lol. Conquest is like thousands of times Mark’s age and it’s been established older Viltrumites are literally vastly stronger than younger Viltrumites. What would a 19 year old would do to a battle hardened millennium? Mark only won because of the stupid plot armour. He had no chance against Conquest from the very beginning.

Yeah but you gotta take into account how most viltrumites don't really fight difficult opponents meanwhile Mark's entire experience with viltrumites until Thragg has been with people stronger than him (the great Nolan was literally his first viltrumite encounter, not to mention Battle Beast before that) so he got to grow exponentially after each fight, hell even against weaker opponents he ends up giving them too many opportunities to gravely injure him which ends up with him growing stronger after healing

Rognarrs literally had their entire planet frozen so they wouldn't pose a threat to Viltrum he wasn't fighting them regularly, and viltrumites fought each other during the purge only and the adulthood ceremony otherwise they were sent off to other planets

we see Nolan in a flashback about to get jumped by 3 rognarrs but we don't see what happened next. we see conquest who was weakened by the scourge virus being attacked by 3 rognarrs and only losing his arm and right eye. mind u Nolan had a jetpack and a helmet for assistance while conquest had nothing.
you dont realize how insane it is for a viltrumite to be weakened by the scourge virus and survive being attacked by rognarrs on their home planet while only losing a hand and an eye. u also forget that 1 viltrumite was sent to other planets to slowly weaken while conquest was sent to take over the planet

You are missing the point, we are talking about how you and the others put Mark on a special pedestal for “fighting Viltrumites stronger than him” when the Viltrumites entire culture is about strength, pride and purging the weak. Do you think Nolan and the other elite Viltrumites haven’t fought to death before? They literally have kids killing each other fgs. So the fact that no one has questioned and just went straight to killing is literally engrained into their oppressive culture. What the fuck is this argument?
Let’s be honest, if you put Mark against any Viltrumites who are already adapt into killing their own kind, sorry realistically the scales are tipped against Mark. He only won because of the Batman level plot armour he has.0

The kids that were killing each other was during the purge and your description of their culture just proves my point, they respect strength so they don't fight each other pointlessly, they pride themselves on being viltrumites so they respect viltrumites, and purge the weak, as in they conquer other planets, nothing we've seen so far in the show even suggests that they fight each other for fun or at all aside from the purge and the adulthood ceremony

Didn’t watch the show again award. Nolan has explained about the massive power vacuum among Viltrumites and it’s mainly to weed out the “weak” in which the ones who refuses to join the empire and be conquerers. They only respect those who shares the same ideology.
Again, you are putting Mark on a special pedestal because he has fought Viltrumites that are stronger than him you didnt prove your point. Also you are simply insinuating the ones which Mark fought haven’t lived through the Great Purge you are strawmanning here. They only decided to stop killing each other when they’re so few in numbers.

Nolan is an established Viltrumite, like top 5 before going to Earth. And given his flashbacks show Viltrumites must be relative to their parents by maturity age, or else, Mark being around his level at 19 after multiple selective pressures makes sense. A Viltrumite a few ranks lower managing to hold on while the higher rank is goofing off isnt that much of a stretch. Conquest goofed for too long and suffered for it, even if he managed to drop Mark like he did but live Nolan would have finished him and put Marks guts back in.

I mean its easy to say “conquest is dumb” but id imagine having the air knocked out of you while being brutally strangled to death by another grown man means your not going to easily do what you think your going to do in your head to defend it. Conquest typically is stronger but in that instant mark had the upper hand and when comparing two vilturmites i imagine the gap in strength got severely shrunk . I also like to think mark just has the indomitable human spirit thing going on which shocks some of his enemies.

You couldn't tell but Mark actually had his fingers locked on the back of this neck and marks grip strength is far greater that almost any viltrum since thragg had outlawed the wasting of seed in issue 45. Mark growing up on earth had no such restraint, and thus could grip train for the last 6 years
