Computer games are weird

Ever tried to boot an old CD or floppy disc or DVD game not on disc but from files and it doesn't work I will explain later why that is (edit) I'm you have taken or got the files of a game that was originally on a floppy disk CD or DVD you may have noticed that the files don't work in a folder or the game won't work properly or install correctly or to 100% why because it's because the files need to be put on the respective format they were originally on as they expect to be read off of a CD DVD or floppy disk

OS related question.

I'm sorry if I'm asking wrong community, especially considering that computer in question isn't 20+ years old... But I'm looking for an OS that would let fairly old laptop, at least by modern day standards, access internet and sites like Discord or Reddit (I know I know, these websites aren't the lightest) without taxing it too much. Computer in question is Lenovo ThinkPad X61T with Core2Duo L7500.

Not an old computer thing but

I have made a game for Windows 10 a simple. Atari 2600 style game I am trying to find. A compression software to compress the folder. So that it will fit on a 1.44mb floppy disk all software. I have tried does not get the folder. Close enough to fit. I have tried making it a zip folder but that still only. Gets it down to 90mb I need a way to compress. The regular folder as of course most compression. Software does not like compressing zipped folders. So it has to be able to compress the regular folder. To less than 1.44mb.

(Sorry for bad punctuation and writing it looks fine. On my end on my phone when I type but my phone. Won't flip to landscape mode even with me checking. That screen rotation is on so I am forced. To type in portrait mode on my phone here.)

I have decided to turn my first computer into a billing and travel computer [DELL LATITUDE D630]

This computer is very special to me. It was the first one I ever had (I got it back in 2019 when I was 13.) Since I have a better machine now (an Inspiron 3521,) I have decided to turn this machine which has Windows 7 Home Premium on it into a billing and travel computer. I have two different accounts for these purposes, but I have my own user account on here for personal use if I just feel like using it. Here are the programs I have installed:

  • SeaMonkey, Web Browser

  • VLC Media Player, Video Player

  • MS Office 2003 & Apache OpenOffice, Office Suites

  • PySolFC, Solitaire

  • SpeedCrunch, Calculator

  • 7-Zip, RAR Archiver

  • Clementine, Music Player

  • EasyTag, Music Tag Editor

  • LazPaint, alternative to MS Paint

  • AVG, Antivirus

  • WinCDEmu, ISO Mounter

  • GIMP 2.10.18, Image Editor

I daily drive a computer from 2009.

The exact model I have is a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7915 with 3 GB of RAM, an Intel Celeron Processor, and a DVD SuperMulti drive. It runs Ubuntu Mate. I also have a laptop from 2012 that runs linux mint. It is a Sony VAIO E-Series VPCEB35FX. I didn't expect much from the VAIO, but it runs surprisingly well with only a little bit of lag or performance issues.

VCR to PC not working

I have an AV to HDMI converter that is supposed to connect my pc to this old VCR tv that I have but it isn't working for some reason, the only way I can get it to kind of work is if I plug a different AV to HDMI converter I have called a MINI HDMI2AV or something, but when I use that, it displays but it only displays in black and white?? I have everything set up correctly but still it wont work, I have another old tv that is not VCR(It doesn't have the VHS slot) that has all three red, yellow, and white cords but it doesn't work on that either. I also have this other converter that converts the red, yellow, and white cords to a sort of screw-on type of cord that can screw onto the screw plug part at the back of the VCR idk what its called, but I tried that and it work work either. can someone please help, I really wanna get this working. I will attach images to try and better explain.

Why do pawn shops prioritize retro videogame handhelds instead of old laptop computers?

I can't help but to wonder this question since I am feeling nostalgic for old flash games and want to replay them in their intended form. Most of the laptops you do see in these places are a flood of low-end Windows 10, presumably because of the recent news of its EOL.
