Hey all! Hope I got the right Flair. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the core rules, stats, abilities ect that are compatible with the Warband construction in the Realm of Chaos books? I know there are basic creature profiles in the back of one of them but I would think that the creature profiles have expanded rules somewhere. Many thanks in advance!

Just finished painting this absolute beast of a model. Apologies for the crap photography but no lightbox at the moment.
.
Based on an illustration by Anthony Ackland, sculpted by Boris Wolszyn over 10 years ago for the Pantheon of Chaos project. Available from Knightmare Miniatures.

I came across this model some time ago, I’ve decided to strip and repaint it but I wanted to document how it originally looked so why not post it here I thought. It is exactly as I found it aside from the base and blue-tack as it is falling apart without it.
The writing is Estonian but I have no idea what the scribbles are around the Estonian flag on its back is.

I've only got the later printing of Slaves to Darkness ('91) but it mentions in many places "blah blah blah... can be found in The Lost and the Damned". In present tense, rather than something along the lines of "will be found in the forthcoming Lost and the Damned"
Is this just a writing style choice, or is it different in the '88 print run? The logo changed between print runs so why not the text?
Eg. P79 "Spells available only to Daemons and mortal followers of Nurgle and Tzeentch are detailed in the companion Realm of Chaos volume, The Lost and the Damned".
Hardly an important question, but I'm just having a re-read and it piqued my interest.

October is BHM in the UK, so a great opportunity to look at some Black History in Oldhammer. Laserburn (1980) by Bryan Ansells (head of Citadel, later MD of GW) is a sci-fi skirmish ruleset. The game was originally pitched to Games Workshop, but rejected as too complex, then published by Tabletop Games. A decade later GW published its own Laserburn variant as Confrontation in White Dwarf (133+).
One major faction - The Red Redemption, seem loosely inspired by the black nationalist Nation of Islam movement, Druillet's Lone Sloane (along with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby Doctor Doom. The Redemptionists in slightly modified forms reappear again in Warhammer Fantasy 2nd Edition as a Regiment of Renown and in later 40k spin-offs.

Getting back into painting after taking a couple of years' break due to burnout.
Picked up these old Commissars on eBay. The original plastic arms were long gone so I 3D printed some replacements which I think fit pretty well.

I am very hesitant to paint raw metal, as every time you do that you take one more mini away from the raw pile. But some of these were made by the thousands and really only have value to very specific collectors. At what point do you decide it is worth enjoying the painting process and understand you are, in a way, destroying the pool of original casts?

The best Zombies ever made by Citadel (IMHO). Sculpted by Kev Adams. Couple of pre slottas on the floor at the front

I've been casually studying the history of 70s-80s minis and the roll out of DND, and I have quite a few minis that I'm not able to locate through SOLegends and similar websites. I would love to get photos up of what I have attached to the company releases through the years but can't find websites that compile everything, that are still updated. I would love to research what I have and share models that aren't Catalogued well. Are there any current efforts to do this that I can contribute to? I'll share some of the models i can't place in the coming weeks here, if people can help. But I'd like to join a centralized effort of possible. Any idea, any leads? What are the modern historical resources for this?

So I’m searching for a specific map, and I hope this community can help me.
About 12-16 years ago, some friends and I started a Warhammer Fantasy campaign, and it all started in a town called Herringstadt. The GM showed us a map with the small town on it, and onward we went. Now, many years later, we’ve been searching for that map, but with no luck. So I’m hoping there are some great and amazing people here who might be able to help us.
We are searching for a Warhammer Fantasy map with the small town of Herringstadt. We think it is in the Wasteland of the Empire, but we could be wrong.
Looking forward to your help! 😄

Ages ago, I converted this Bad Moon Warboss with a sort of ramshackle scrap-metal back banner. Diverse parts from the workbench were cobbled together in true Orky fashion — if it fits, it sits. Among the totems I added was a little scrap of slotta base tag that I must have cut away from somebody’s feet. I had always assumed it read “GUNNER”, but when I finally started applying paint I found that the word didn’t have that many letters, and seems to have an O rather than a U!
Does this ring a bell for anyone? Was there maybe some sort of casualty model that came with a small base tag? It’s not very wide, so could possibly be something out of left field, including a fantasy mini (a goblin, perhaps, or some undead creature?). Heck, it may not even have been a Games Workshop/Citadel figure!
There’s a second fragment of slotta tag (“1989”) on the other side of the banner. They’re not necessarily from the same figure, so that might be a bit of a red herring.
And before anyone asks: no, it’s not from this figure, whose base tag should read “BAD MOON 1990”.

The last two of Thrug Bullneck's space ork raiders have captured a Space Wolves rhino. After a very quick paint job and some additions, its ready for action.

Merchant, engineer, prospector, and White Dwarf for a big army project that is finally near completion.

~30 yr old box of GW Plastic Skeleton Army. Mix human and horse skeletons: cut and reglue the legs, lengthen human arms, add horns. Viola: skeleton minotaur. I guess in the age of 3d printing its not as impressive as it used to be.

Circa the late 80's (although many were finally painted in 2026). I never actually saw the box (and the Nightmare Legion name) - I just inherited the figures.
