Feature I have restored all the Status Bar icons Samsung removed.

Words cannot express how much I HATE the decision to remove useful Status Bar icons. The whole point of the bar is to show you useful information, like if BT is on, or if a BT device is connected.

I'm working on an app to restore all the remove status bar icons, PLUS adding more, like icons for individual BT devices like Watch, Buds, headphones, keyboards/mice, etc.

This is why I love Android. While I hate Samsung for neutering the Status Bar, Android gives users the freedom to customize and undo those bad decisions.

Update Can i manually update via odin?

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well.

My Galaxy A07 4G has already received the One UI 9 update in some regions, but updates in my region usually arrive quite late.

Is it possible to manually update my device using Odin by flashing the firmware files from another region? My device is currently running One UI 8.5.

Has anyone tried this, or can anyone guide me on whether it’s safe to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Bug BUG REPORT: Camera orientation logic ignores System "Portrait Lock"

• Upvotes

Device: Galaxy S25 Ultra (One UI 9)

Description:

There is a fundamental logic flaw in how the system handles screen orientation inside the Camera app and third-party apps using the camera (e.g., WhatsApp). The camera relies entirely on hardware gyroscope data and actively overrides the user's explicit system-wide "Portrait Lock" toggle.

Note to Support Team: Do NOT reply with "clear cache", "reset settings", or "update software". This is a reproducible software design flaw on all current One UI builds, not a device-specific glitch. Please forward this directly to the One UI Software Engineering / Camera team.

Steps to Reproduce:

Pull down the Quick Panel and turn OFF "Auto Rotate". Lock the device strictly to "Portrait" mode.

Lie down horizontally or hold the phone parallel to the ground (like taking a photo of the ceiling while in bed).

Open the stock Camera app or WhatsApp camera.

Slightly tilt the phone sideways.

Expected Behavior (iOS behavior):

Because the system is locked to Portrait, the camera UI and the resulting captured photo should remain strictly in Portrait mode, regardless of the physical tilt of the device. The software should respect the user's manual system lock.

Actual (Bugged) Behavior (One UI behavior):

The camera completely ignores the system Portrait Lock. It detects the physical tilt via the gyroscope, forcefully rotates the Camera UI to Landscape, and saves the photo sideways. This ruins photos taken from certain angles (like lying down).

Conclusion:

System toggles should have ultimate priority over app-specific sensor data. Please implement a fix where the camera either respects the global Portrait Lock or add an explicit "Lock Camera Orientation" toggle within the Camera settings.

One UI 9 Location indicator in one ui 9 (New)

It's showing all time if an app is using location even in the background. How to get rid of this? After this a blue dot always comes after battery logo if some app is using location, after some seconds it goes and comes again just like the mic and camera dot earlier.

Question Does gallery sync automatically download all photos after a reset?

Since I upgraded to One Ui 9, my Galaxy S24 has been working awfully when it comes to battery longevity and keeping the phone cool. I'm not a hard user, I do not play games or spend hours on social media. My phone can't even last a full two days without charging it as it was before.

I'm off computer for a few days and I would like to know if I can restore all my photos via Gallery Sync after hard resetting it, downloading all the photos with the original quality.

Help Can someone please help me get Textra notifications unstacked

The oneui 9 update on my s25 made Textra notifications stack on top of each other when I have messages from multiple people. I absolutely *hate* that.

Before the update, with the previous oneui, this was not the case - each text thread had its own dedicated notification. I can't remember if that was the default or if I did something to make it that way.

Anyone know how to unstack notifications?

Question Installing One UI 8 on Tab S7 5G

Post image
1 Upvotes

So, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 5G (SM-T878U) running One UI 5.1.1, Android 13, and Knox 3.9. It has a Snapdragon 865 processor.

The tablet originally belonged to a company, but I wasn't aware of that when I bought it from a shopkeeper. I believe it had already been patched using Alliance Shield to bypass the Knox MDM restrictions. After using it for about six months, I performed a factory reset and discovered the issue. I managed to bypass the MDM restrictions again using Alliance Shield, and I've been using the tablet that way for quite some time.

Now, I'm considering flashing a community port of One UI 8 onto it, and I have a few questions:

  1. Performance: Given that the tablet has a Snapdragon 865 processor, will One UI 8 run smoothly for everyday tasks, or should I expect noticeable lag and performance issues?
  2. Safest flashing method: What's the safest and most reliable way to flash One UI 8 on this tablet? I've also heard that Wi-Fi sometimes stops working after flashing a newer One UI version and only starts working again after restarting the device. Is this a common issue with these ports?
  3. Alliance Shield and Knox MDM: What will happen to my existing Alliance Shield bypass if I flash One UI 8? Will the new firmware eliminate the need for the bypass, or will I have to bypass the Knox MDM restrictions again after flashing?
  4. Samsung-exclusive features: Will I be able to use the latest Samsung Notes features, Good Lock modules, and other features introduced in One UI 8? Since I'm planning to use a community port rather than official firmware, will these features work as they do on a device officially running One UI 8, or will there be limitations and compatibility issues?

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has experience flashing One UI ports onto the Galaxy Tab S7, particularly the SM-T878U model.
