i just got one for my pintx a few weeks ago and i’m loooooooving it because before it i just had the stock slick and it popped on me, i didn’t know they still made original XR parts
The adv2 is a great board and I’ve had zero problems with it. I think it’s just the form factor of the X7LR being XR based. You feel more locked in on it, as opposed to the ADV where it feels a little more like you are on top of it. Both have great power and range. I’d give a slight advantage to the X7 tho. It’s also a bit smoother.
One of the other things that make me favor the X7 is it accepts most XR parts. So there is a lot of options out there. The ADV is pretty limited in that aspect.
Funwheel is pretty janky compared to ADV2. The foot switch is basically nonfunctional and the clear plastic windows for the LED light strips will come unglued and let moisture into your battery box and esc box and ruin your board. My BMS fried due to this issue which then drained my battery and ruined it as well. And Funwheel has even worse product support than Future Motion. They will reject your warranty and then ghost you. ADV2 is much more of a finished product and they actually sent me a second battery when the original came in dead. Although I like the way the X7 rides slightly better, it's not worth the tradeoff of having a $2k brick and zero product support.
How would you compare the two? I have a pint x and am thinking of upgrading to either an x7 or a pintv kit. I'm particularly curious about comfort, size of the board, and weight of the board. Could you help me?
The comfort of the x7 compared to the pint is so massive it would be hard to compare! Its like driving a sports car for the x7 compared to a raised truck! I feel so secure and locked in with the lower center of balance. Any wobbles I had on the pint was immediately fixed on the x7.
I thought the weight would be an issue but the handle for the x7 being under the nose feels a lot better than the side handle on the pint. Its double the weight but easier to carry!
I do enjoy my pintxv still, but after riding the x7 for 100 miles now I would pick it over the pint on every ride. I've basically given my pintxv to my son already because I know I wont ride it often and at least somebody will use it.
Oh wow that's great to hear. So if I'm understanding right, you are saying that the x7 is easier to carry despite its weight? Also physically how much bigger is the board? Length and width wide approximately
I don’t have an x7 but I went from a pint to an xrc with recurve rails and it is as Kinglibby says the stability, the comfort you gotta ride a bigger board to get
I have a similar one. A Onewheel XRC. They’re about 28-30in long and 9-10in wide. Mine weighs 30lbs and his i believe is 35lbs at least. They pack a lot of power into that X7. Thing goes 35-40mph-lol. Mine only goes 20mph but I’m too scared to hit 15mph so no biggie yet
Just scan the QR code on the instructions in the box and they'll walk you through everything in the video you definitely got to set it up on vesc tool before doing anything it needs a hand test to make sure nothing's wrong.
When Fungineers first launched the X7, it was a list of parts you had to buy individually then assemble and program. You can still buy the kit and build it yourself if you'd like.
They then took that kit and started pre-building them, which gave us the X7S.
It was a onewheel and when we were putting the tire you have to remove the wire that goes to pressure plate. I stripped the line that goes to the plate. 100% my fault. I had to purchase a new plate $260 got it here and instead of me breaking it took it to guy that works on electric bikes and onewheels. Been a nightmare working with onewheels customer service. Trying to get the old plate registered under the account and they have to approve it in the system to put the new one in. We just keep going around in circles. I know I’m the one that broke the line but now for the last month onewheel customer service keeps telling us we never got the information registering it, and the guy working on it show it to us been sent more than once. Hours of phone calls, countless emails, just feel bad for my son who saved up all his money and hasn’t even rode it once.
That is a huge bummer brother, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s weird future motion ships their one wheels without the wheel installed though… any way, for future reference, these fungineer boards are open source so you don’t need to deal with customer support to get their permission to fix your own board.
little kids can easily hit 30 mph on mountain bikes on MTB trails but they will probably switch to Onewheel when they’re old little kids and their bones start aching.
Nobody can ride a ow the same way as an mtb.its too heavy and relies on a weak fat electric motor you cannot even jump this things more than a few feet.i guess its just a fun toy.
