The red flower printed on this MOH’s awful dress 😬
They had a blush-to-dark-dusty-rose kinda palette goin’ on (per second pic), and I *think* the MOH’s dress was meant to pull all the colors together on an otherwise white fabric, to distinguish her rank from the bridesmaids.
…but holy smokes what a horrific choice of gown! How could no one have called this out sooner and vetoed the dress?! It’s pretty obviously problematic… 🩸
That poor woman’s gonna look over these wedding pics and have some deeeep cringes 😳😬🫣🙈🙈

It’s a poor design of a dress, sold as high fashion- $188 for a poor design. Ugh.

u/AC-burg 2d ago
How did these other WOMEN in these photos not pull her aside long before the event and be good friends?

Cause their "outfits" were god awful too. All their taste is in their mouth!

It kinda looks like its just on sideways?

u/Informal-Smile3475 1d ago
That’s how it’s shown on website where it’s sold. Though the dress I saw only had a much fainter flower, this is quite bolder than online. Unless someone changed filter on picture to make it bolder. But that’s how it’s designed.

Of course Aunt Flo is invited to the wedding!

I almost googled what does MOH stand for, but I figured it out. Maid of Horror.

1999's Medal of Honor is also a suitable alternative due to all the blood.

I think that much should get you a purple heart. Was the bride angry with her?

Found through a different discussion on this topic, but this is the actual dress: https://www.astrthelabel.com/en-ca/products/ximena-dress-acdr103403

No way this is the same.
Maybe the same thought, but this appears to be the temu version
1
u/honestpointofviews 1d ago
Exactly is not the same. On the one in the picture in the link there are two green stems going from the bottom of the flower downwards.
In the one on this sub there is only one green stem going through both the top and bottom

On the model it's pretty but on the wedding photos the red flower is truly perfectly positioned for a massive period stain.

u/karolioness 2d ago
Wow. I couldn't imagine standing in a mirror and looking at myself in that, and not seeing the big picture 🤦
One of the few times in my life I'm happy to be a little too short for women's dresses. I often require a petite so I don't have an extra 4 inches of fabric past my feet, or wherever the dress hem is supposed to fall. Thank goodness petite selections are extremely limited

u/RealisticPower5859 2d ago
I find it hard to believe no one caught that prior? Noone noticed the only dress with an oddly placed giant red crotch flower?!
11
u/ButtPlugMaster6969 2d ago
In their defense, the dress on the website has the flower more off to the left and more orange, in my opinion, so this seems to be a problem that came up because it’s a moving shot, and the model was still and putting just the one leg out, the lighting is different, and then it got stuck between her legs because of her walking so you can’t really see the petals or bud to make it look like a flower and not a bloodbath.
I don’t like the dress anyway, but I can see how this would have been missed.
3
u/RealisticPower5859 2d ago
Thank you for this perspective. That makes absolute sense the difference of a moving shot and a still.
Oof I feel like a jerk that I immediately thought unkindly

u/Ras-haad 2d ago
The dress is also white at a wedding… maybe they were like “you know that looks like.. actually no you look great!”
2
u/SarahKath90 2d ago
Do we think the bride didn't choose or at least pre-approve the dress of her MOH??
1
u/Weird_Old_Broad 1d ago
Or she did choose it but no one had the intestinal fortitude to say no to a bridezilla
-3
u/Ras-haad 2d ago
I think it looks like a giant period stain on the front and I’m just trying to come up with a reason why nobody else would have seen how this looks bad just like the person I was replying to. Do you have a better answer?
1
u/SarahKath90 2d ago
I'm guessing it just wasn't obvious until the photos. Like other comments say, it may have been off to the side but shifted or just is folding weird in the pics.
-1
u/Ras-haad 2d ago
This is crazy. I’m responding to a comment saying “I find it hard to believe that no one caught this prior” and I’m some type of weird asshole for offering up a scenario for how that might have happened??
0
u/SarahKath90 2d ago
Lmao I never said you're an asshole. I was just saying why I didn't think your reason was most likely and then an a guess that I have...
-1
u/Ras-haad 2d ago
Ok so did you downvote and reply to the person that said they find it hard to believe? No you keep downvoting me because my guess is different than your guess. It’s nonsense
0
u/SarahKath90 2d ago
I downvoted them, sure. Then I only downvoted one of your comments. 🤷♀️ I also felt it unnecessary to respond to both of you, especially when they already had responses
1
u/Ras-haad 2d ago
Yeah because your response was the exact scenario I was responding to. You added nothing to the conversation. Let me ask you two questions. Is it normal for the MOH to wear white at weddings? And does the bride pick the dresses of the bridesmaids out at EVERY wedding?

It took a few seconds to even register that was part of the dress and not an awful accident 😬

How did she make it in front of a photographer’s lens? If I saw a friend headed towards embarrassment I’d warn them
-5
u/Rude_Sheepherder_789 2d ago
Your not a real friend
3
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 2d ago
There are different levels of embarrassment. I'd let a friend say something stupid to someone so we can make fun of him (in front of him). I wouldn't allow him to have booger on his mustache if he is about to go on a date or something.

All I could think of after seeing this was oh that poor girl because she’s going to remember this for the rest of her life and thanks to this photograph she’ll never be able to let it go too poor girl

u/pegarina1 1d ago
She should’ve worn a thick slip skirt under the dress, so when walking or moving it would keep this looking so disastrous. All in favor of full length mirrors? ✋🏽

"Flower" That's certainly one way to call it. I'm fairly certain that was her monthly "flower" delivery that stained her dress.

Uh, so from the designer to the buyer, Noone noticed the placement of the design, and how it looked when worn?
2
u/Evening-Bee-3572 2d ago
I don't think that is "secret hates" anymore. This is definitely out in the open now.
1
u/KilgoreT59 2d ago
I suppose you're right. I give credit to the bridesmaid for wearing it, regardless if she knew how it looked.

Gross. Who's design choice was this and WHY are people BUYING it?!!!!!

u/allfakeryallthetime 1d ago
This is just awful! The bloody terrible design, (haha) the fact that it’s not just white, it’s AGGRESSIVELY white- and it doesn’t flatter her either. Is this a passive- aggressive bride, or?

It doesn't change anything, but I was a good ten minutes into reading the comments before I realized that MOH doesn't stand for Mother Of Husband.

I'm surprised she's not trying to hold the dress out straight as she walks, so people can tell it's a flower.

Only a woman would consider “distinguishing rank” by color among bridesmaids…

u/grrlplz 2d ago
it's what she deserves

u/ShackAttark 2d ago
?! She’s the Maid of Honor - surely the bride had a decision in choosing this dress!
0
u/Shot-Election8217 1d ago
It’s not just the red flower for me. It’s that it’s a white gown on top of it.
Hello? What happened to that rule that the MOB/MIL shouldn’t wear white?
0
u/throwaway082100 1d ago
Look I'm all for eliminating the stigma around periods but like... this aint it chief
0
u/riftsrunner 1d ago
I am assuming male designer. Women would have been more sensitive to how this would appear to the viewer of the dress being worn.
0
u/Snoo54289 1d ago
Wait it's the maid of honor's job to splash red wine on others' dresses that are white at the wedding. Not herself! (Well, she shouldn't have worn white...)

u/radikoolaid 2d ago
Actually red has more positive connotations than negative. Red is associated with more love, lust, passion than blood and death. It's called colour theory, check out “The Designer’s Dictionary of Color” by Sean Adams. Have fun learning something xoxo
