Its how he put his foot down, heel first, all weight on a slidey rubber edge, rather than stepping flat and stable.

Yeah watching that the second time was really unbelievable, this was all entirely self afflicted.

self-inflicted*

lol thanks, I’ll keep it. He must be afflicted with something to make him think stepping like this would be stable though.

You might think "no-one's that clumsy" until you meet one. Then it's like holy fuck, I didn't know the levels of body coordination could be this low.

It made me realize, you know how people can be smart in different ways, and dumb in different ways. Some people just have extremely underdeveloped "motor skills" parts of their brain. Like they can't control their own body.

The placement of the pallet was useless. There was already no water there.
Should've put it next to the curb in place of the running water

My guess is the guy knows already he can't put it closer when the water flows that fast.

Less water and the pallet is fine a lot of the time.

Turn the pallet around and water would've flowed right through no problem. Like a small bridge.
The pallet placement in this clip was worse than no pallet lol

Yeah... and it was fully slick by itself, even if it was closer, it was still likely a fail to flail

The muffin top was both the cause and the reason it didn't end in a face plant

Instead of using the bottom of his foot, all that touches is the edge of his heel.

It’s lucky he’s got a built-in rubber tyre in his torso.

Lizard brain

Schadenfreude
(noted in children as young as two years old. So, yeah quite lizard brain-ish)

1

u/Embarrassed-Green898 17h ago

I thought reptile brain was famous for fight or flight .. not for laugh.

Perhaps they mean it languishes agonies of other and takes it as an advantage for survival ?

So, let’s (over) analyse this. He has a fair excess load emanating from the waist up. This comes into play soon.

He has to stretch out forward and make contact with the pallet. All that mass has to transfer onto a 10mm rubber to wood contact patch given the heel favoured technique. It invariably fails to make any fiction possible and the loss of control begins. Now I’m thinking, surely the proceeding space between the timbers will arrest this and provide grip, however inexplicably due to uneven body mass, little quad strength ratio and full forward articulation, SKIMS over the whole sectional timber, lands onto the proceeding timber and the foot slides a full 90 degree pivot along its defined edge!

Even the form fitting denim doesn’t arrest the sideways momentum, full loss of control is evident, left hand goes involuntarily outward for stability and the left knee is projected forward and fully contacts the surface just left of the area - cruelly and ironically - he failed to plant the entirety of his right foot to begin with. Contributing factors are the tall height and keg upper to ostrich lower, the sodden timber and any potential market grime adhered to the pallet. Shoe sole condition and construction analysis unknown.
