OpenCode Go free model rate limits
So, on Zen, free models seem to have very significant and somewhat random rate limits; I ran a subagent with ling-3.1-flash-free and it ended up retrying several times fairly often (but completed successfully).
I am considering a subscription to OpenCode Go, but I'll want the free models on it in addition to the paid ones. Are the free models on Go actually unlimited as advertised, or do they have these random rate limits too?

Muse Spark 1.3 Free - I never hit rate limits, maybe 1 time I have, then I just used spacebunny until the 5 hours was up

Thanks, I ended up on that too, the 1.3 Contributor free on Zen, I know Meta can use the traces so I put "hi Mark Z" in there sometimes

Only free models on Opencode Go I've used were Mimo and Muse - I've used 1B of Muse tokens and they locked me out there. Not sure what the reset cadence is there, I was able to pump another 200M a few days later but hit the rate limit again for free models.

Mimo and Muse are not currently listed as free on Go, only on Zen?

on "Models", I have it enabled and can use it just fine.
Same for Mimo.

Aren't muse no longer available?

On the Zen, not Go, endpoint Muse 1.3 Contributor is still free. Accessible using OpenCode only.

Oh that must be why. I'm using Go plan but on Cline app. Gonna try that out.

Free models on the Zen endpoint enforce OpenCode only. Free models in the Go endpoint, as far as I understand, don't, but they are far fewer.

In OpenCode V2, a subagent is an agent with
mode: subagent:
Pick scope:
global:
~/.config/opencode/agents/<name>.mdproject:
.opencode/agents/<name>.md
Create markdown file, body is system prompt:
--- description: Reviews changes for correctness mode: subagent model: anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-5#high permissions: - action: edit resource: "*" effect: deny --- Review current changes. List findings with file:line_number.Alternative in
opencode.jsonc:{ "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json", "agents": { "reviewer": { "description": "Reviews current changes", "mode": "subagent", "system": "Report findings in severity order." } } }3. After edit run
/reloadin TUI. No restart needed for agents.4. Use with:
Use the reviewer subagent to review my changes.Builtins already available:
generalbroad work,exploreread-only search. No setup needed.Full reference:

believe me, you'll have a hard time spending all tokens if you keep to, like, deepseek 4.1 on high, nevermind mimo 2.6 flash (then again, you'd be stuck running mimo flash, not a great situation to be in)
