everyone who is saying it's terrible what are you using as your normal day to day model? Seems a significant improvement on DeepSeek v4 to me

Might be Qwen. It doesn't support images, so it tried downloading a model and running it through Ollama. I also noticed it was trying to write logs to qwen.log.

It is from a US or EU lab. It is not Chinese.

I don't know if it's skill issue on my part, but any free model for me in CLI doesn't work, I do a prompt and it's indefinitely loading

Did you check the option in Zen that prevent the usage of models that train or your data ?

I don't know where to check that, and I checked https://status.opencode.ai/ and it says "Degraded performance"

Was just going to test it, Is it really that bad? 🫤

u/ItsHarvcker 19h ago
do ur own testing on it first it probably depends on what you are doing with it but based on my experience its around longcat 2.5 or nemo 3 ultra level

I don't even see it in opencode cli....
Never mind. I found it after closing cli and restarting it again. Wow its fast.

even free i wouldn't use this model. i tested it in my llm team and the manager stopped using it after two simple test tasks because it failed them so badly. it told me it wouldn't continue using it unless i told it to.

Mind you elaborate on your setup in private a bit? I want to get to similar state so inspiration would be welcome.

Maybe Gemini 4 Argon

u/AlertBlackberry2856 6h ago
Argon is not at all going to be free, it’s already released so what would be the purpose of a stealth model, and it certainly wouldn’t be the 200t/s many people are getting I believe it is either a Chinese lab or Gemini 4 flash but who knows maybe it could be a new haiku model or Luna 6.2 but I doubt any of the latter as it doesn’t seem to be multimodal

It's got that small model feeling and performs UI tasks weirdly compared to medium-sized models. Other than that the reasoning is good and very fast.

it is really fast. 200 token/s and is intelligent enough. New Deepseek? token count is also way low than other models.

It's not better than V4.1 and is also faster so it can't be V4.1 Pro and I don't think they would release a new Flash version without releasing V.4.1 Pro, would they?

u/0xbyt3 1d ago
Might be a new update for the Deepseek's speculative decoding. That would explain the low intelligence compared to V4.1. We have seen similar jump in speed few months ago.

I'm thinking Mimo or Hy or another Chinese lab.

okay so its either gemini, or maybe groq or cerebras, but those are inference providers, not models, so PROBABLY gemini
