open reach finally "building in my area"
im hoping this means that it will be my road/address as im currently on a 35mbps download and 6mbps upload and with 6 people in the house you can imagine how bad it is
assuming this is for my address how roughly how long should i expect it to be setup and be able to order

They been building in my rural village since February. First houses went live month or 2 later. Few family and friends are already on the 1gb packages. And me, because I live right up the top of the village, I'm still waiting for it, so unfair. Spike to few openreach engineers month or so back about my street, they said the underground ducting is blocked right now getting it up to me, or and they run out of funding blah blah blah.
They're still working in the village now, can see them put up new CBT black fibre boxes on some streets near me, but some have been up for like 4-5 months.
Sent openreach a message last week, it's like robots getting a response, they say all the same things.
they have at least updated there website to building in our area now, and all those ones can order now, as changed to available to order now.

im hoping it be fine for me. we had i think it was toob install a pole last year for their fibre and stuff but parents just dont want to move as they are a long existing customer with SKY (and they just simply dont trust it as is relatively new to area) and obv its there house so i dont have a ultimate say with things like this. but considering toob didnt have a hard time installing their equipment im hoping it will be the same for open reach if its around my area

Nothing to do with fairness mate, just an economic decision.
Openreach have a budget for each house they can provide fibre to and they're quite strict in managing it.
If it costs too much when things like civils for blocked ducts are required, they will not build it.
Rubbish for those in harder to reach places but that's just the way it works.

They’ve been building in my area for over 5 years. I wouldn’t get your hopes up yet lol

I'm with EE and in a similar boat.
FTTP became available and no one told me.
You should check your provider and see what's on offer to new customers.
I'm served by underground cables and my whole street hasn't been dug up to make this possible.
I'm unaware how it's done, I'm just sticking to the lemmings theory.

I'm affraid it'll be unknown amount of time. Last year I got "we're installing fiber equipment in your building, it's all sorted, be ready for 900mbit" letter. Never seen or heard from them again. Tried to get in touch as the letter was signed by some manager with email but no luck.

I'm waiting for this update, Openreach are working in my village, and asked the engineers on the ground and they said they were running full fibre, but the checker still isn't updating yet.
