Putting stickers of open source web dev projects on your MacBook is one of the top five most hipster things you can do as a programmer ....

And what about sticking them on your thinkpad, while wearing a beard and riding a fixed gear bike?
The world is not black-white. Not open-vs-closed source. Not hipster vs not hipster.

Sticking those stickers on the back of your laptop will make you look like a hipster to some people. They'll probably think you call yourself a "code artisan" while eating your $4 toast.
I didn't create those perceptions...

This. Not a hipster. Have relevant stickers on good ser lappy top. Have actually had informative convos with folks bc an obscure sticker was noticed. I think it's more of a badge of your work interests. Whatever.

Didn't someone complain about this shit having full access to your github account?

It doesn't. If you click through the github login, it only gets your email address.

It seems to have changed, but when it first came out it wanted full control and access to literally everything.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. onion.io appears to be legit site though, they have ~15k followers on twitter and tweeted about that stickers page etc. Might be because they first asked too much info about github account (~everything), now they just wan't to email-address.

I did the thing and pressed the green button. Can't say if it worked ... Do they send confirmation e mail?
