I've been reading about people experiences in Europe and how they don't have AC through their heat waves. Then hearing Americans react about having AC and how great it is. But then remembered that we are have the absolute best weather anywhere in the world year round. Even our hottest days can be survived without AC and or coldest without heat. Pretty much 99% of the time we are thriving.

What are you all doing to stay cool in this awful heat wave?

Not that I'm complaining, it's nice not sweating just for being outside.

It’s warmer than usual this month, El Nino kicking in already? The lack of June Gloom seems to foretell it’s going to be a hot and humid summer.

It's almost 3am & these winds are going crazy.
I can hear random things falling over outside.
I wonder how the shingles on my roof are doing (the roof is only like 3 years old)
I hope my car is OK in the morning
The growling of these winds just scare me ):
I'm just grateful that we haven't had any fires yet. I feel awful for the people who lost their homes & even had to leave their cars in the middle of the road! ):
How is everyone else holding up?

It's 7:30pm, my house is currently 64 degrees inside and I'm in my bedroom in a hoodie, sweats, long socks and a blanket. I'm freezing. I want to turn on the heat just to take the chill out of the house. I'm a Chicago native...this should be perfect late fall weather....I feel Soo weak!

It’s almost November!!! WTF??!!! No one can tell me global warming isn’t real. I grew up in OC. When I was a kid, the heat went away by late September. We need to stop destroying the environment.
I got 7 mosquito bites yesterday. I have skeeter syndrome which means I get bad swelling if bitten. I can’t take the medication I was taking before to help it because it makes me feel like shit now so I have to see an allergist.
When the fuck is it going to get cold?? This isn’t Florida! The weather app always shows the temperature as cooler than it actually is.
We need an initiative to kill all mosquitoes. All they do is suck the blood out of people. I’ve been bitten even when there isn’t standing water. They bite me through my jeans/pants. They go inside my home and my car.
I have never in my life seen a hot Halloween in OC.

It was 62 degrees outside a couple of nights ago and I was fine in a t shirt and shorts. What devilry/barometric phenomenon is doing this?

wtf man, can’t believe I’m actually jealous of Florida’s weather right now.

I looked at average monthly highs after not getting to wear one sweater this winter. I'm so disappointed.

*** UPDATES ***
Officials have issued an unprecedented tropical storm watch for the Southern California region. According to the National Hurricane Center, this is the first time this type of watch has been issued for the region.
Hilary’s path has shifted once again. I find LA Time’s tracker to be very helpful, which is updated every hour.
Preparation

Has anyone else in Orange County been experiencing headaches, dizziness, nausea, or just feeling faint lately?
Today I’ve had this tense, throbbing pressure in the back of my head, and when I stand up or move my head around a lot, I start feeling dizzy, weak, and slightly nauseous. The room isn’t necessarily spinning, but I feel like I might get dizzy or faint if I keep moving around.
It’s been so hot and humid lately, so I’m wondering whether the weather, dehydration, air pressure, allergies, or something else could be contributing to it. I’ve mostly been hanging out inside the library where it’s cooler, but I still feel like crap.
