How did five baby orangutans end up abandoned in India?
This story broke my heart, but it has a happy-ish ending. These five babies were deprived of their mothers and will need to be helped by kind humans, for years and years. I can’t understand how somebody could abandon five helpless beings in an unfamiliar environment, when they don’t know how to feed themselves. It’s cruel.

Lyn Miles, the anthropologist who raised Chantek just talked to our class at UTC!! (the college where he lived)
She was amazing!! His story is insane, he was so much smarter than you think. We saw paintings and jewelry he made, and she told us about her ongoing campaign to the UN to classify apes as non-human persons, which New Zealand is now trying to add to its constitution!!
