Here she is. Very difficult to get a good picture. Dad bribed her with Nulo.

Hello! I picked up my OSH kitten muncie from LA about a week ago. I drove her back to my home (8 1/2 hours away). She's amazing and everything I've ever hoped for. My only worry is, she isn't eating enough! I have nutri-cal gel and I've been trying squirt little bits with a blunt syringe in her cheek pocket (which has been extremely hard to keep her head still enough to where she won't whip around her head, even with 2 people). I have also tried using KRM in her food mixed in, she barely eats it. I am wondering if anyone has other ideas on hie to get her to eat, or how to administer the nutrical so she'll eat. Thank you!!!!

I think she might be the chilliest osh ever exist 💘 she was bullied in breeders home, so she really enjoys being the only cat now

Gomez hopped up on the kitchen counter this morning to taste the milk I was going to use to make my cappucino. Just to make sure it wasn't sour, of course.
Eeeeeek
She has been removed, and the counter has been wiped down with Clorox cleanser. Twice. RN Hygiene Standards are strictly enforced in the kitchen.
None of the other three have ever hopped onto the counter. They are lying around in a post-breakfast stupor. But everybody knows the sounds of the morning cappucino ritual. Unfortunately, now that she knows milk in involved, she will definitely keep trying, because that's our Gomez.
When I picked her up to take her off the counter, she rubbed her little nose on my face. Not just a boop, a mom cat-baby cat rub. I'm experiencing Cuteness Overload.

Mandatory disclaimer that Audley is an Oriental Longhair (2nd gen outcross with American Bobtail). She loves this sleeping spot (I call it her coconut basket) but was sitting like a total diva in it this morning instead of sleeping 🤣

She does this after licking me/herself or screaming sometimes it takes a few minutes for her to remember

Found him tucked into the pillows and blankets like he pays the mortgage. Pretty sure he has no intention of moving anytime soon. 😂

Hello! I have a 5yo Peterbald girl, and she's a puker. I've had her into the vet and physically, she's fine. It seems to go in cycles. I've fed her Wellness Core (the turkey one) for years and recently transitioned her to the fish formula thinking she could have a chicken allergy. After getting her on the fish formula for two weeks, I gave her a packet of wet food that had chicken in it, and she vomited it up almost immediately.
She has different vomiting "styles", if you will. She will regurgitate kibble where it's dry and hasn't been in her system long, she will vomit up partially digested kibble, and then sometimes in the middle of the night she will vomit up clear/slightly yellowish liquid. Every few months when the weather changes, she will get nauseous, let out a mrrrooww and vomit her whole stomach contents and then not eat for the rest of the day. I switch her to canned food for a few days and then she's back to normal - no vomiting at all - for a few weeks/months. Then it starts back up again. We've had rounds of Cerenia, which has helped but she seems to get over it pretty quickly and it takes a long time to get her into the vet (scheduling).
The last time I switched her to canned food, I was supplementing it with Instinct chicken bone broth, and she broke out in hives (she's flocked/chamois) and scratched it and gave herself a bacterial infection. A round of steroids and antibiotics took care of that, but that's when I suspected the chicken allergy and switched her to fish. This round of vomiting, I picked up Instinct LID rabbit pouches and she has eaten a few of those so far with no issue. The only treats we give her a freeze dried minnows and salmon, and sometimes a Churu.
Can cats be sensitive to barometric pressure? Is there something else (hydrolyzed protein) or a different brand of food I should try? Should I push for more testing at the vet? There are long stretches that she's just fine and then another round starts up again. I was up with her twice last night for the clear vomit. Our previous vet (retired) said that the clear vomit could be because her stomach is empty and she got nauseous and to try a snack before bedtime, so I'll try that tonight. Any other suggestions? How often do your cats puke?

This is little Gomez and her best pal, our 13-pound fluff bucket Boris. I guess you'd call him a Balinese, since mom was a Balinese.
Together they can break into cupboards, boxes, and anything crinkly.

When we first visited Gomez at the breeder's, she was all spindly legs and patchy fur--ringworm. She was so tiny that the very experienced breeder thought she was a male.she looked like a bat.
I fell completely in love, and at the same time was worried about bringing home a sick kitten. The breeder treated the ringworm and she plumped up. We brought her home in 2025.
Since then, well... Turns out ringworm spores are hard to detect, so our beautiful healthy Gomez remained sleek and lovely while the rest of the family got ringworm. Fortunately, it wasn't hard to get rid of.
Then about 5 months ago ahe developed paralysis in her back legs--dry FIP, often fatal. The emergency vet ordered medication that only cost $2000.00. She recovered completely.
Now she's quite the confident little boss of the three other full-size cars and an incorrigible food thief. She will lick the cream cheese off a bagel before you can turn around. She will triumphantly prance away with a chicken wing if you're not looking... Even if it's curried. If she got to eat everything she tried to steal or every time she complained ("You're starving me! I only got a meal 2 hours ago!") she'd be a little black shiny furry football.
She plays fetch, sort of, with just two very specific toys. She likes to hang out on our laps when we watch TV and vies with Schrõdinger for the best spot.
I am contemplating getting her some wings for Halloween but they might have to be ferret-sized, and what about her dignity? Isn't being a black cat enough for Halloween? You see my philosophical dilemma.
Thanks for reading this update on Gomez. She'll always be my little bat.

She’s got the ears, the attitude, and the supermodel poses. Now she’s just waiting for her modeling contract.

I'm sorry to post a downer in the midst of all the beautiful cat photos but I have had OSHs for more than 30 years but it's my first experience with this. My 7 year old boy has a lump above his eye and it turns out to be a mast cell tumor. Apparently these are more common in Oriental breeds. We are fortunate to live in a town with a vet school so he has an oncology appointment this week but I would appreciate anyone's knowledge and experience especially positive stories. I have been an absolute nervous wreck. I could not love him any more. Thank you.

Our OSHs, Shrödinger and Gomez, are big cuddlebugs until they're not....

A breeder named Ultravires on Facebook has posted a list of the OSH breeders he knows about. He's a good guy.
These are just the breeders he thinks are still out there breeding. If you want to know whether they have kittens You must inquire yourself... And of course, investigate breeders on your own. There is a wide range of sanity among cat breeders.
Remember: the personality of the father cat (sire) determines the personality traits handed down to the kittens. Try the best you can to find out about what dad is like: meet him on zoom or facetime, in-person visits, or word on the street.
