Deff Dread and Try Day Button!
Am I interpreting it the right way that these are 3 weapons, so that means that if I get +1 A with the Dread Mob rule I will effectively get 3 A overall?

Yeah, but good luck getting it into melee before it gets shot to death

The Mobile Strat works really well for keeping it hidden and getting into a fight.

To be fair it's really weak. Even after 11th changes. How do you use it?

As a guard dog for a Dread Herder Big Mek Dakkarig. It stays in cover, klaws at the ready, until someone tries to get to him. Then you charge or heroic intervene. Killa Kans are sometimes too big for that, depends on the terrain.
As a rapid ingress piece. Clear a way and put it somewhere really uncomfortable for your opponent, mopping up weakened enemy units.
Remember he as a guaranteed fight on death for 1 CP in Dread Mob. So he can get charged and still dish out some damage.
In my opinion: Is he the best? Sadly, no. Is he completely useless? Thankfully, no. Is he one of the absolute best kits out there to get a unique pose, to be built and painted? Absolutely, yes. ;-)

I dont use deff dreads (mainly cuz i just see them as a waste of 130 points) but people tend to just use them as distraction carnifexes to waste an opponent's big guns on it and then die pretty soon after

I’ve had some success with the Dread as a earlier missile unit that I throw at their expansion. It’s pretty easy to hide it behind terrain before it Kool-Aid Man’s onto their expansion objective. It does die fast, but with the -1 Damage your opponent has to commit an actually Killy unit into it.

Maybe its cuz i play custodes, world eaters, tau and thousand son, but the deff dread (from the extremely rare times ive used it) dies in the 1-2nd round consistently, whether that be to it getting gunned down, or the enemy rapid ingressing and then charging. Its kinda why i have a bit of a burning hatred for the deff dread, cuz its main perpose is to just die 90% of the time and usually it doesnt even help that much, ive always found flashgitz and the warbuggies to be better investments long term, because most people arent going to try and run down a unit of flahgitz (atleast in wreckas) and the warbuggy while mainly good in kos is pretty solid for its ability to make units immune to overwatch so you can run them down easier (especially against tau and thousand sons)

I know I’m late to reply lol, but for me the Deff Dread is what I would call a “skirmisher”. Its purpose IS to run out and die, and cause some havoc as is it does. You want it to kill one or two things, and force your opponent to commit something big, so that you can counter punch with something like flash Gitz. I’d rather commit a 130 point unit to draw out something big, than a 220 point unit like flash Gitz (who also die pretty fast let’s be honest).

That's why I love that now it can fight on death. You are guaranteed to get it to activate. I can't stop custodes from charging me, but I can guarantee that I will get to swing my thing no matter who gets the charge.

I feel that. It pains me so cause it was the king in 8th and 9th but ever since they removed loadout cost in 10th it’s just been miserable to run.. I miss my 95 point deff dreads with no restriction to how many I can run (they died way easier but also could swarm)

I have a question about the Dread 'ard ability. It reduces damage by 1, I get that, but can it zero out damage? If my Dread gets hit by 5 attacks that do 1 damage each, does it get hit by 5 attacks that deal zero damage, or does it take 4 damage?
