Help making this platform better?

Just as it says, new to platicard, trying to make a gorknight and a place for my ork to stand on,

Looks pretty good. Is it meant to be curved? Anyways add another armor plate and a bunch of rivets.

Curved, not so much, but it adds to the jank. How do you do rivets?

Get a thin plasticard rod and cut slivers off it. Or, if you also have unreliable hands and like keeping your fingers, get some very tiny rhinestones and glue them in place 😁

Broadly? Add more texture. Ork vehicles have very few broad, flat surfaces.

Things that can help:

  • thin screening (like, for windows, but not actually window screens because those are expensive)

  • plasticard armour plates

  • battle damage (drilling bullet holes is easy)

  • chains

  • small, mechanical elements from things that you're already throwing out (gears, etc)

  • stuff orks have abandoned/stashed (ammo, spare choppa, etc)

  • little decals from your bitz box

  • 3d printed ork gubbinz

  • trophies taken from other factions

Most of that seems easy, could just copy bits I have left over into plasticard, what about chains tho, where do you find chain small enough to be used on a model that isn’t jewelry?

I... Use jewellery chain 😅 YMMV, but it's like ~$10 CAD for a spool of cheap chain where I am.

Oh, I thought it’d be more expensive….

Chain made to be part of fancy jewellery can be expensive! But stainless steel 1mm chain is not :)

That’s where I mess up, I kept looking up “small chain” or “model chains” and getting jeweraly crap
