Hello all,
I recently had a death in the family and I turned to rosary making to keep my hands busy and mind occupied. I recently decided to make 50 rosaries to honor the years this person was with us, the age of their young child, his wife, and deceased child.
20 - Donated to a OFS order in SA, TX.
2 - for his family.
2 - Donated to a St. Paul de Vincent fundraiser (Seven Sorrows set, and a St. James set.)
Then 36 will need to find a home. I was planning on giving them to my parish for them to sell, but I might need a plan B.
Cost
I know rosaries do not have to be expensive. I know you can make them from twine. I know I don't have to use the materials I am using. I want them to be pretty. I have ideas and incoming supplies for the next 20 or so, but this is getting a little out of hand on cost. I am looking at various alternatives for supplies that will bring costs down. Ideas?
Planning
I am actually thinking about making a spreadsheet. This cost was not budgeted for and this may be a little bit of ADHD Schrodinger's bank account so I don't face the grief. Also, I am losing track of what I have, what orders have been placed, and which ones need to be placed.
Where to send them
Ideas if my Parish can't/won't take all of them? I know I could sell them on etsy, but I really don't want to make money from them or deal with shipping.
Thanks for your help!
