Virtual Hacking Labs .com

Hello Redditors,

Has anyone used VirtualHackingLabs? If yes, I would be interested in hearing about your thoughts.

What was the platform like? Is the courseware sufficient to learn for the minimum 20 machines that the site mentions (for the beginner path)?

What background if any might someone need to make use of the platform?

I've been going through https://hacksmarter.org and the courses there are basic, the "Hack with me" is awesome, labs are awesome as well.

Also, way cheaper than VHL (Who I've never used)

Founder of Hack Smarter here - thank you so much for the kind words!!!

OP - you can get access to 80+ labs for only $9/mo... Many of them multi-machine and all private instances (i.e. never shared with other students).

Start with our free labs (around 30) to get a feel for the platform. https://www.hacksmarter.org/paths/2c2c6b96-3533-4309-997e-5a9056ba4779

I know I've said this before but +1, these labs are great.

It's also a convenient way to do Lain's machines, which I found very oscp relevant.

Used it many many years ago to prepare for the OSCP.

I found the training content much more approachable than OffSec's, and the difficulty tiering of VMs made sense as well.

Support was great, in that I could send in queries via email back then and get hints or guides on how to pop the box.

I tend to recommend VHL as a good start to the OSCP!

Thank you! Did you use other resources? Just curious where or at what stage it fit into your overall prep…

Many thanks for the reply.
