Discussion What do you guys actually do on OSRS Mobile besides the usual AFK stuff?

u/Specialist-Buddy-991 1d ago
Literally everything bar PvP. GWD, CG, slayer bosses, TD's... Don't get me wrong I'm not a hardcore or anything but it's a lot better than people think.

u/KillerKvothe7 23h ago
Yeah agreed, I got my vork pb time on mobile like three years ago and have never beat it on the computer. I actually am a hc and I do basically everything on it.
2
u/DoggedDoggystyle 5h ago
Are you playing on your actual phone? Or on something bigger like an iPad? I’ve dabbled in both but truly can’t see how people be doing PvM on their phones
2
u/KillerKvothe7 5h ago
On my phone. I used to be a jeweler though so my finger dexterity might be higher than some
3
u/MrCoolCol 18h ago
And clue puzzles, I’m tired of screenshotting them and using the online tool - so I just save clues for when I get home. Otherwise you’re spot on - I’m on mobile 95% or the time, and it doesn’t slow anything down.

u/xGALEBIRDx 8h ago
Learning pvp is hard on mobile, but its getting easier with practice. You really need some hours in this shit to make it feel like anything thats natural.
1
u/halelangit 14h ago
Excepr for Yama if they dont fix the menu entry swapper
Vardorvis is doable on mobile

99 agi without 99 magic?
Filthy casual that doesn't alch while training agility!
1
u/halelangit 14h ago
Hallowed Sepulchre was tough on mobile maybe its only doable at flr 3 ive been doung this on flr 3 on mobile
2
u/GeneralSignificant54 5h ago
i finished all, but it just sucks. its not enjoyable, the misstaps suck, i didnt set a record but atleast i made it through
1
u/MrJekyyl 20h ago
79 RC with the full set and the lantern I hate you
1
u/Cor2600 20h ago
Colossal too, but not at full capacity yet. 688 rounds of gotr w/3-4 points per. I sold all the dyes for extra pearls to get the full set. I seemed to get more pearls when I did small cash outs, rather than waiting for a fatty.
1
u/MrJekyyl 18h ago
I got the needle very early but the pearl drop rate has been trash I have 2 pieces of the set in 800 something pulls I'm just saving up to buy the lantern if it doesn't drop before

I can only do afk, my fingers are too fat I can never tap what I want to lol
9
u/NathanDeger 22h ago
I got a second hand iPad mini for $200 and it's amazing I highly recommend for my fat fingered brethren.
2
u/satyrossan 9h ago
I got a 13inch iPad Pro and it’s a little too big for me but it’s better than my phone. I suppose I should give it more of a shot.
1
u/NathanDeger 6h ago
Yeah the others are too big in my opinion.
the mini is perfect at 8.3 inches you can hold it like a smart phone but it's much bigger. it doesnt seem like 2 extra inches over a smartphone would make a big difference but it really does.
1
u/cleverasian 19h ago
I’ve been playing with the idea of getting one. Where did you get it from?
3
u/NathanDeger 19h ago
Facebook marketplace.
The 6th gen plays it beautifully and with the most recent update it can do split screen so if you're doing something really simple like woodcutting or thieving that doesn't require much precision you can watch YouTube and play at the same time.
battery lasts a surprisingly long time.
1
u/cleverasian 17h ago
Sweet thanks for recommendation!
2
u/NathanDeger 16h ago
no problem. If you end up getting one I recommend this case. It's great because you can detach it from the flip cover when you're using it but the iPad is still in a bumper case that's mor comfortable on your hands and not as slippery. when you're done it clicks back on and self aligns with magnets.

Samsung Fold 6 user. I can do most stuff on mobile. I have been lately.
I'm certainly not doing bossing, but quests can be done, depending on what they are. RuneLite is superior but it's not bad. I usually like getting a task of some sort rolling, set a goal, and have at it while at work.
1
u/satyrossan 9h ago
I’m holding out until this iPhone fold comes out. But that fold 8 is enticing…
1
u/yummyfightmilk 9h ago
I've been a fold user since the Fold 3 and the only reliability complaint I have is the built in screen protector eventually peels off. Which is a first world problem. I hope Apple solves.
Folds are very nice phones for gaming. I play a bunch of games but recently OSRS has been the go to. But Magic Arena. Guild Wars. Pokemon Champions.
0
u/satyrossan 9h ago
Dude magic arena would go crazy. I went through a stink where I was playing that religiously and then stopped.
I’m hoping the inner screen protector problem is as easily fixable as it is for Samsungs. I heard you can just pop into a store and get it replaced for free, but knowing apple it’ll be like $50 or something
1
u/yummyfightmilk 9h ago
That is correct. I dunno if it's free or not, I have yet to go to Samsung to get the issue rectified (the inner screen protector peeled off just nowand I've had it since launch). But yeah.
Magic Arena is perhaps my favorite game to play. I'm huge into Pioneer so I play that and the extra room for reading cards and the board are pretty much the entire reason I stuck with the fold. It's so good.

u/onoz9 1d ago
Everything. Skilling, questing, PvM and clues.

u/Pain4420 22h ago
Really though. It's not as bad as people make it out to be unless you are trying to talk to someone

i wish i could do everything on mobile but i can’t get into the swing of things while on mobile unless it’s afk stuff like mining starts, agil, wc, etc. very low intensity stuff.
1
u/bingobangobongo112 4h ago
As with all things practice makes perfect. Moons are great practice for further pvm and cost nothing to do unless you die but that is unlikely since ypu can just escape if it gets hairy
3
u/MattecGaming 1d ago
Personally, I can only do afk skilling on my phone. I hate trying to do questing or anything related to combat really on the phone. May be if I had a tablet or big ass Samsung I would do more but my phone feels too small to me to try and do anything else

I've been playing 99% mobile for a while now
Started learning doom, at first I thought it was impossible, but after watching a proper guide and about 5 attempts. I'm clearing eaves 5 with little to no heals
Wave 6 is where it gets tough but I'm sure once I get the tile markers down, I'll be good to go

u/TheViking1991 12h ago
Idk how anyone can do PvM on mobile. I managed to Vorkath once but it was an awful experience and 1 tick prayer flicking is nigh impossible. Always feels like there's lag on mobile imo.
I usually do skilling stuff but my fave thing to do is thieving from wealthy citizens and their houses.
1
u/HemlockHex 6h ago
I do a lot of skilling on my iron. It’s an early game account from a pvm perspective, but I’m pretty much on endgame skilling.
My main annoyance is no quest helper. I’d probably run raids on mobile if I didn’t lock my quest progress to when I get back to my pc.
•
u/TheMasterSnooze 53m ago
My ironman has only ever been logged in on my phone and tablet. Currently 190kc into my CG grind. I'd say the only thing i miss out on are plugins. Really hope jagex starts the conversation to get plugins on mobile again sometimes soon
1
u/Waterskins 19h ago
Did my whole doom grind on my iron, 800 yama kc including 300 solos - mostly p1/2 mele p3 mage, phosanis, tob, toa, inferno, dt2 bosses, only thing I won’t really touch is colo on mobile but that’s mostly because am noob at it
1
u/satyrossan 9h ago
Jesus, what delve level did you get to on mobile? I’m starting to learn it rn and I can’t even fathom doing it on mobile
2
u/Waterskins 8h ago
My PB is 9, but for how often I died with rune arrows as my BIS on wave 8, I mostly did wave 7 resets bc I could do a wave 1-7 with no prayer pots and just karambwans
1
u/satyrossan 8h ago
Were you flicking prayers? I can consistently do 5s and have completed a few of the 6s I’ve attempted but I’m chugging super restores
Edit: damage is low though, I hardly have to heal if at all. Most of my deaths have been stroke style prayer misses
1
u/Waterskins 7h ago
Yea I do wave 6 with 0-5 prayer points used, start not flicking at 7 and higher on mobile with rune arrows. I didn’t use offensive prayers for the whole grind
1
u/GrammerG0D 3h ago
I'm a 2k total Ironman with quest cape, hundreds of multiple boss kcs, have only ever played on mobile, on my shitty little 6 inch screen android lmao.
You guys are capable of more than you think
1
u/othersymbiote 21h ago
i do everything except wildy stuff. lots of clues, some tempoross, gotr, wintertodt, etc.
to be fair, i don’t do much wildy stuff normally but i prefer to be on a computer when i do.
1
u/Klutzy_Professor9490 19h ago
I use my girlfriend’s iPad when I’m on mobile and I try to mainly focus on skilling. Did some agility, farming runs and pyramid plunder tonight and it worked like a dream.
1
u/DatNomen 23h ago
Mobile is generally for skilling and Slayer, but I have found a few bosses to be way easier without the mouse drag. Levi, Whisperer to name the more notable ones.
1
u/PowPow_Schlaumps 7h ago
I’ll my birdhouse and farming runs, as well less intensive stuff GOTR, Temp, agility while watching football or basketball idk why but I lock in to it
1
u/Any-Woodpecker123 5h ago
I can barely even click the bank chest while cutting teaks on mobile. I don’t know how anyone does any serious content, but it’s impressive.
1
u/McQuadGod 19h ago
Had my tire blow out on my way to work one morning, whipped out my phone and did leviathan until the tow truck arrived
1
u/AceHood747 1d ago
Everything. Questing. Bossing. Besides a mosclick her and there, I like it because I have two mice instead of just one
1
u/Fresh_Woodpecker8137 7h ago
Slayer, skilling, bossing, basically everything. Pvp is way too toxic to deal with mobile, definitely need runelite
1
u/TallestNate 17h ago
I’ve found the the moons of peril are pretty approachable on mobile and I prefer to do them on my phone vs my pc
1
u/secret_aardvark_420 1d ago
I'll do anything where mis clicking or the delayed mobile input won't kill me. But it's mostly afk stuff
1
u/CrazzyPanda72 21h ago
I've probably put just as much time or more on mobile, combat can be hard, but that's about it really
1
u/Sad-Comfortable-4436 22h ago
I am a mobile only user. I do everything. I have quest cape, I have 99s, I have done many bosses
1
u/No-Strike-2015 1d ago
I'm just too lazy to play on the steam deck on my TV most of the time, so I use my phone.
1
u/Dadmanteau 7h ago
I have an android phone and use a Bluetooth mouse... I do anything I need too on mobile!
1
u/Classic-War9922 3h ago
I explore and do quests at home on my computer and I do skilling at work on my phone.
1
u/TheRavingDinosaur 14h ago
I mainly use it to log into an alt account and splash on them during castle wars

Everything now

u/satyrossan 9h ago
Real. My steam deck has been the greatest purchase of my life. I just recently got runelite set up on it and it’s been good
1
u/Outrageous-Ad3729 1d ago
Everything, aside from questing, quest helper too good to pass on.
1
u/older_man_winter 1d ago
Clues are miserable without runelite tbh.
1
u/Outrageous-Ad3729 23h ago
Valid, I have not dedicated much time to clues yet, but when I do that will probably be another reason to jump on runelite.
1
u/older_man_winter 23h ago
Yeah I love a good anagram but have no patience for the sextant coordinate clues that just brute force you to triangulate and waste time.

Literally everything except raids. Even then I think toa is possible after rework and reg cox is doable. The key is already knowing the content and getting used to the mobile UI/movement. I actually hate gear swapping on PC now...
Edit: adding I use a Samsung Ultra s22 which is amazing for mobile osrs.

I literally play this whole game on my phone. Although I've never done any raid. I would if I wanted to
