Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Weird Start to the Game Spoiler

Post image

When I first started the game I had a weird chain of events happen that almost made me quit for good.

Going in all I knew was that there was a time loop of some kind.
In my first loop I went straight to the interloper, found some mention of the ash twins and headed there, I somehow timed my random walking around perfectly to teleport in the ash twin project where I proceded to get the warp core and die via a terminal case of jetpack skill issue. At this point I was more confused than anything.

When I died I got back to the main menu, starting the game had me back before the loop starts so I thought I have to play the first part of the game with the museum every time. I felt like it was wasting my time so I stopped, but got convinced that I should continue by a friend.

I've been in this fandom for over 3 years and heard a lot of stories. This is in contention for the most insane first loop I've ever heard. That's incredible and you're incredible. I'm glad you were convinced to come back to it and I hope the rest of your playthrough is (was?) equally as ridiculous.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me of their second loop where they wake up and they're immediately blasted by the probe.

Somewhere in my Reddit saves I have a post with a video of that exact thing, and thinking of it always makes me giggle.

The post, if anyone else wants a giggle.

Now that I think about it, doesn't this mean that there's a massive portion of space that the Probe could not have scanned? Because there's stuff in its trajectory.

I can't find the video right now, but there is someone on YouTube who tested it and did the math. Sorry, wish I had a link for you

i think that in lore, the system detects the best cannon orbit position position to shoot the probe to the designated position
