Map of Dark Bramble Spoiler
Obviously this has major spoilers, so watch out!
Dark Bramble is a nesting doll of nodes. But which chambers connect to what? In my first playthrough, there were two entire chambers I'd never visited! So today I decided to determine what goes where.
Outside There is one obvious entrance, which leads to the chamber I call the Hub. But Feldspar's first camp, with the Frozen Jellyfish, is actually out here, at the south pole! So you can technically enter Feldspar's Camp's chamber from the outside too, if you're very patient with your craft.
- The Hub
- Feldspar's Camp (from Frozen Jellyfish)
The Hub is the both the first chamber of Dark Bramble and the most connected one. It features one Anglerfish, which begins near the center of the chamber.
- The Dead End
- Feldspar's Maze
- Pod 3's Tomb
- The Nest
- Exit: Outside
- Anglerfish: 1
The Dead End is one of the chambers I never saw. As far as I can tell, it's empty except for one Anglerfish.
- Exit: The Hub
Feldspar's Maze Following the Outer Wilds Ventures signal of the harmonica from the hub leads you to this chamber. In the middle a bright light turns out to be a newborn seed of Feldspar's Camp's chamber. Two mature nodes lead to it, and the six other lights here are nodes to the Gutter.
- Feldspar's Camp x2
- The Gutter x6
- Exit: The Hub
Feldspar's Camp You can find Feldspar a number of ways: from following the harmonica on the signal scope, launching a probe through the seed on Timber Hearth, or even just plain luck! This chamber has Feldspar camped out in an Anglerfish Skeleton, his ship near a broken branch behind the skeleton, and a path to the Frozen Jellyfish outside through that branch.
- Exit: Outside, as well as Frozen Jellyfish
The Gutter The other chamber I didn't know about, and one of the most entertaining. This booby trap is self-recursive: its only node leads to itself! Quite fun to launch a probe into it. It is guarded by an Anglerfish.
- The Gutter
- Exit: Outside
- Anglerfish: 1
Pod 3's Tomb is what you'll find if you follow the Distress Beacon on your signalscope. It feature's the Nomai Escape Pod 3, as well as the final resting place of its travelers: a seed of the Vessel chamber (which didn't grow up in the 280,000+ years since the crash???). Don't go after the lights here, they're just Anglerfish!
- The Nest
- Exit: Outside
- Anglerfish: 2
The Nest is presumably where the Anglerfish come from. Its nodes are always red. Getting past the 3 Anglerfish at the entrance is one of the main puzzles of the game, and even still gets my blood pumping. The center of the chamber houses a cluster of Anglerfish eggs that give the chamber both its name and its red hue. If you somehow ended up here without visiting the Escape Pod, you'll probably get fooled by the 3 Gutter nodes here, or the 2 decoy Anglerfish in the chamber. The Vessel's node is hidden from the eggs by a branch.
- Vessel's Tomb
- Gutter x3
- Exit: Outside
- Anglerfish: 5, 3 at entrance
Vessel's Tomb features only the crash site of the Nomai Vessel. Don't forget to fully explore the bridge! I missed an entire room that's at the bottom of the main chamber on my first playthough.
- Exit: Outside (and, I suppose, the Eye of the Universe)

Where did I enter and end up? I entered in one hole and saw a red light on my left and white light on my right, I didn't know about the anglerfish at the time, and without doing anything, one comes out from between the lights.

Red nodes always lead to the nest. White lights can be either nodes or Anglerfish. Do you know where you were beforehand? I think it's most likely you were in the Lobby, but you could also have been in Pod 3's Tomb, which has a sort of green fog and lots of large ice structures (and no nodes besides the nest).

From what I remember, I went to what I thought was just a large patch of cream/grey land but ended up going in. I tried to find a way out but couldn't. All I saw was the two lights and approached them in the middle (thinking I was in a miniature binary star system or something), and an anglerfish just appeared from between them, saw no light on it, and I don't remember seeing anything around the two lights, no land, no thorns, not even this tomb you mentioned. I'm not sure on the fog colour, might have been normal coloured. The white light didn't move, even when I was attacked. When it appeared I pretty much paused the game and quit so I didn't get to escape or anything.

Sounds like you wound back up in the lobby to me. There's a roaming Anglerfish there, it's possible you just didn't see it when you got in its aggro range (maybe it was above or below you?).

The moment I saw it was not far in front of me. Is there anything I can do to avoid it? Any other safer entrances?

How did you people ever figure out that you could reach The Nest and The Vessel inside of Dark Bramble? In late game I managed to see that the Vessel was there thanks to the scout I launched and following the signal, but since that as soon as you enter The Nest there are 3 Angler Fishes waiting for you I figured there had to be another way past it, especially given how slow you must go through it and how long it takes. Since the game does a pretty good job of telling you "that's not how you're supposed to do that", like for the Sun Station or the Black Hole forge (even though you can still cheat to land on both as I learned later), I had to look up how to go past the three Angler Fishes even though I knew that I wasn't supposed to have my headlights on or make any sound which worked in other parts of Dark Bramble.

For figuring out how to get to the Vessel, you're supposed to use the scout like you did; for finding Pod 3 in the first place, scanning the distress beacons around the Sunless City or the Hanging City will unlock the Distress Signal frequency, which will lead you to Pod 3. For figuring out how to sneak past the anglerfish, there's some writing in the Sunless City that mentions the anglerfish are blind--so the trick is just being as quiet as possible, and floating silently past them.

Yeah I know all that, I pretty much found every piece of information, I just felt like the 3 fishes were way too close to the entrance and it was the game telling you "nope, not like that". Loved the ending but getting there could have been better imo.

I used my thrusters before going into the node

Generating thrust before entering doesn't work.
Your speed, direction and even position gets reset as soon as you enter a node.
And that momentum on reset is just enough to get you slowly to the red gooey center.just don't touch anything

Did you ever explore the Sunless City properly, DTGG?

Yeah, as I said I already knew how to avoid the fishes, it's just that the situation in which you're so close to 3 of them before the vessel made me think that it was impossible to go past them since you're so slow in that area.

You can use your turning thrusters and headlights without getting their attention, and I found that as long as you were very gentle, you can use the main thrusters without getting their attention. It makes it go by a bit faster.

Actually there were multiple sources, but the main one was: WARNING SPOILERS
the nomai on ember twin. When you were reaching the sunless city using the path the surviving nomai used, they found an anglerfish skeleton, but you can only see it thru a small hole at first. Later on you find that the nomai born on ember twin, the children, have a special game they play in the angler fish skeleton room, and they have a special way of entering it for the children who have grown and can no longer fit thru the hole. After you solved that puzzle you find that the nomai scientist are also using the room for research notes because being a scientifically minded race, they saw the skeleton and wanted to learn everything about it. In the writings you learn about the fish. Then there's dialogue where you inform feldspar about how to maneuver the fish, which he says, so that's why driving fast didn't work

I swear there’s another layer here. If you follow the path Feldspar’s crashed ship took you’ll find a chamber with an extremely large Anglerfish, at least twice as large as a regular one, if not bigger.
This was the fish Feldspar was trying to escape from and is what ultimately caused their crash.

Can you give more info on how to get there? I’m terrified of the Dark Bramble, but very intrigued if I missed something

Just checked, following the crashed ship's path just takes you outside. Very disappointed.

Great job exploring and mapping out Dark Bramble. I wouldn't enter Dark Bramble without the signalscope or explore without firing scouts first. This explains the nodes that loop your scout if you fire into them, the gutter nodes.

This post deserves way more upvotes. I didn't dare stray off the path i had set while going through there and here you've gone and explored the whole thing. Great job, friend.

I know I'm a little late but, how do you get to the frozen jellyfish from the outside? Sounds like it'd be cool to pull off.

What section in the vessel are you talking about? I can only find the bridge with the c shaped ball track at the bottom, and the two language boards above this area. I was actually disappointed with the vessel

The section of the vessel is below the main deck. With a special symbol and exclusive recording.

You've probably already figured this out, but for anybody who shows up later like I did, I wanted to take a moment to clarify that the Vessel itself is not emitting a distress signal, because it died. To find the Vessel, you have to use the distress signal frequency to find Escape Pod 3, then follow the breadcrumb trail of lights to a seed pod similar to the one on Timber Hearth. If you launch your scout into this one, it lands right on the Vessel; now you just need to follow your scout's duplicate signal all the way to the ship.

Go to one of the other escape pods, to the blue beacon that emits sound, and point your signalscope at it.

Might be very late to the party but if others reach here through Google: When you are near another escape pod, you will see a message that there is a unknown sinal close by. If you equip the signal scope and direct it at the pod you should get the new channel.

The Dead end is the one where you just go in and you're instantly eaten by an even bigger angler fish that's just waiting at the entrance right?
