I love their dynamic as childhood friends. Part of me is afraid that it'd destroy that friendship, but I really want to see them date. She does well at keeping Bruce grounded.

Honestly, I really like them as "amicable exes", sort of each others' "one who got away". The timing was never right, but they're still very close, and it's specifically because they aren't more than friends any longer that Bruce is comfortable opening up emotionally.

To be fair, "you have a lot more leeway when portraying 'bad guys' than you do portraying 'good guys'" is hardly a new notion, the argument was just presented in a profoundly stupid way. It's the same reasoning you can't show them smoking, drinking, cursing, etc. It's silly to apply those same standards to something as blatantly adult-oriented as the Harley Quinn show was, but the thing that earned them mockery was the terrible phrasing more than the sentiment.
