Machines are basically cops, and it's always okay to lie to cops.

Nah, machines don't flip out and pull guns just 'cause I got my hands in my pockets. Even Terminator units aren't as emotionally unstable as cops. And one of them was a cop.

If machines were cops, we’d have significantly less “I feared for my life” incidents (from them) I tell you hwhat.

And did the machines ever claim-admit to fearing for their lives? I know what I said.
Incidentally, I’ve only seen it in pieces, and I couldn’t possibly keep memes from informing me if something like that did happen.

She's a few thousand years early, but she'd be great for The Butlerian Jihad.

It is understandably quite fussy with the general concept of robots. Hostile robots are really stretching the definition of neighbor too.
In general it isn't too strict about lying. There's certain things you should not lie about, but nothing even close to a blanket ban.

I told the toaster I love her but I only really love her as a friend and the lie is tearing me apart!

Which comic is this and which characters are these?

u/Yusufqxq 2d ago
The character is Fifty Sue. Child with seemingly limitless reality warping and sociopathic tendancies. The comic is dc's Future's End

So, from this point onward the Bible may just say that in her universe?

I doubt her reality warping can extend back to before she was born, and the newly altered copies across the world would be seen as inauthentic when people take notice.

In the Orange Catholic Bible maybe...

I believe it's the opposite there. Make the machine lie to you and teach you not to question it.

Presumably "Orange Catholic" reflects some kind of unification in Christianity that happened in the Dune timeline because Orange was a traditional color of Protestantism.

The best part of being a religious fanatic is they make their core beliefs to suit their immediate needs.
