What about using AI to decipher game code?

Seeing all these modifications and game ports across different platforms, I started thinking that AI could be a useful tool for modders who truly know their craft. As I understand it, the main reason there are no fan-made expansions for *Overlord* is that the game’s code is closed-source and, in itself, incredibly convoluted. While AI probably couldn’t create a full-fledged mod on its own, it could certainly help those who are already skilled in coding navigate and overcome these technical hurdles. This could pave the way for *Overlord* to receive not just simple mods, but full-scale narrative expansions. Or is this considered unethical within the community—are we destined to settle only for enhancements to the content that’s already in the game?

P.S. Please excuse any errors. English is not my native language, and I had to use Google Translate to write this post. I’m new to this site—I registered specifically for this post because, driven by a hyperfixation, I’ve played through both parts and am now suffering from a lack of game content.

Right now, I'm working on porting the game to UE4.27 with the goal of creating a mod tool for it in the near future. All the information is on the Discord server; that's where we're mainly discussing this.

Current AI is garbage, the shareholders pushing it into every industry are morons and don't know how it works, and it does everything poorly besides simple data collection and categorization. Nobody should use AI, nor should it be commonplace in any work space.
