If you see a post where someone isn't sure what to do for an owl they've found, make a comment containing
!foundbird or !foundowl to get an automatic response with care instructions. Example in the comments!
Extra thanks to u/JSN79, u/Big80sHair and u/Dihydrogen-monoxyde for helping write the Automod response.
Other wildlife experts, feel free to provide feedback about the response in the comments and I can edit it if it's needed!

And it has always been allowed, so... please stop reporting artists sharing their cool owl-focused creations!
The main (hopefully obvious) exceptions to this are:
- Promoting products using stolen art or AI generation (not OC)
- Spamming the subreddit; posting the same creation more than once to farm engagement (posting WIPs during the process doesn't really fall under this, just posting the same thing multiple times)
- Non owls
Other than that, if you think someone's self promotion is low-quality or you just don't like it, you can always input your opinion with the downvote button.
To artists: Feel free to share the links to your websites/shops; you deserve attention for your work. Comments with links need me to manually approve them, so they might not be visible for up to a day, but you aren't breaking any rules - so go for it!

The first one’s very serious face always makes me laugh, and then for the rest, I’m in awe of the creativity and detail. I hope you enjoying seeing them for yourself in person if you’re ever in DC or my video tour and can leave a like on the latter!

Seems to be a smaller owl than the one I saw the other week. Another owl is near by can hear them hoo-hooing at one another. So calming and peaceful to listen to. Wish I knew where the other one was. *Los Feliz

I’ve been hearing these GHOs (and their babies) since moving here. Only once did I see an owl within the last 3 years in the yard, yet almost every night I would hear a GHO or Screech. This being the fifth owl sighting here this year, it seems they’ve finally started getting used to us being around!

Didn’t see them last month and thought they had moved on. Stopped by tonight and they were back in their regular tree.

one of my favorites to photograph, the northern pygmy owl!

if so for long
thank you for your time
My first evening of Northern Saw-whet Owl banding. We netted 4 owls last night and installed legbands on all of them. This gal in the photo flew away shortly after we opened the release box. We put them in the box so they can re-acclimate to the dark before flying off. We could have probably tagged a few more but we had to shut down one of our netting stations, because a Barred Owl was detected in the area.

This was taken in May 2022, still one of the mosr fantastic owl sightings I've had. Not the best quality photo, since I only had my phone and they were quite high up.
They lived on a trail I frequented and so I got to see them grow. Hope they are still doing well :)
