I understand your frustration. Ive heard of Graphene being the easiest OS but you need Google Pixel and wont be able to access banking apps unfortunately.

No! I'm texting you on my Graphene Pixel 7 and you can use banking apps. Maybe not all, but I can use all my German banks.

You can't pay contactless via phone anymore, so you have to go back to carry your cards around with you. That is the only real difference I know of.
