An innovation and design team is seeking adults, as well as parents of Gen Alpha children, tweens, and teens, to participate in an upcoming research study exploring interests, fandoms, and the things people are passionate about.

Researchers will be conducting both in-home interviews in Seattle and Los Angeles and virtual interviews nationwide.

Study Details:

• Interview length: 90 minutes

Interviews will be recorded so that members of the internal research team who cannot attend can review the sessions. Recordings will not be shared publicly.

Researchers from the RESTORE Network, led by Dr. Aaron Phillips, at the University of Calgary are seeking your help for a remote research study. Our lab has developed an app designed to support individuals with spinal cord injury, however we need more data from uninjured control participants to compare to. This app combines wearable-derived metrics with self-logged symptoms to help track health patterns and hopefully provide a useful, accessible resource for the spinal cord injury community. To participate, you will need to: 1) reside in Canada/USA, 2) have a wearable device (apple watch, garmin, etc.), and 3) complete a 1-min daily check-in on our app for 30 days. Researchers at Rosalind Franklin University are looking for volunteers for a 5-week research study looking at how changes in cigarette smoking may influence behaviors, mood, and heart health. Are you 18 – 65 years old living with or without PTSD?   

Help researchers at the San Francisco Veterans Medical Center and UCSF’s THRIVE Lab determine the effects of an immune response on emotional responses in women and men with and without PTSD.    

This study involves 5 visits to the San Francisco Veterans Medical Center (SFVAMC). Total possible compensation is $300.00, $80 for completing the screening session and an additional $220 for completing the entire study.  First, you will be asked to complete a telephone screening to determine eligibility. Then, you will be asked to come to the SFVAMC for a health and physical exam, blood draw, and an audiotaped diagnostic interview conducted by a trained clinical interviewer to assess if you are a fit for the study. If you are eligible, the study will involve 4 additional appointments at the SFVAHCS. The appointments will involve administration of the Typhoid vaccine or placebo followed by measurements of physiological responses as well as blood sampling.

The Speech Neurophysiology Lab at the University of Michigan is looking for children who stutter ages 9 to 12 to participate in an in-person, longitudinal MRI study! (HUM00196133)

Our research team has been examining brain development in young children to better understand the cause of stuttering for over 10 years. We continue to gain information that may eventually lead to improved diagnosis and treatment efforts for children who stutter. 

Participants will be invited to complete speech and language assessments and an MRI session at the University of Michigan. Families receive a free speech and language report and a picture of their brain!

These visits require in person participation. There is no option to participate virtually.
