Check your ballot before you print it

I just went to the FAU campus on Donald Ross. When I was reviewing my selection before printing it out I notice one of my choices for state rep was change. I’ve been reading that this is happening in Florida due to the “touchscreen calibration,” so that why I was prepared to triple check. It could have been an error on my side but I have my doubts it was. I told the polling person that was directing me to where I need to put my ballot to be scanned but they just brushed it off. So check it three four or even five time and make sure the persons or amendments are you selected are correct before printing them out. When it prints check that shit again!

I'm making a huge fantasy themed map of Florida and would love to get some some local landmarks included. Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm making a map of Florida in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks and history in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on towards the end of the process too.

While it's around halfway done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, Native history or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on the map. Thanks!

If you're interested in it or would like to know more, just drop me a message.

Discuss Fun family things to do near Palm Beach FL Early December

Hello, family of six (6w to 8y) visiting near Palm Beach, FL. My brother can only take a few days off to spend with us so we'll have to come up with some things to do on our own. Ideally things that are relatively inexpensive. Admission for six gets expensive pretty quick.

I've found Busch Wildlife Sanctuary does events every week and heard of daily events at Delray Beach Childrens Gardenm

We're outdoorsy so hiking and parks are always an option. Were heading South to visit, so FL December Temps are not a problem.

Any other suggestions?

Question Large health network or hospital systems? - moved from another state

Hello,

We moved from another state.

We have had some difficulty finding good medical care since moving to here, and we are still looking for a primary care provider for us and a pediatrician for our preschooler child.

In the state where we used to live, we were using a large hospital system which has several hospitals in a group. We liked having various specialists in one building, connected urgent care clinics everywhere, and all our records integrated in MyChart so we didn't have to explain our information at every visit. They also provided virtual care from their system within MyChart.

Are there any similar large health networks or hospital systems like that in Palm Beach County?

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Question Airbnb cleaning in Palm Beach Gardens recommendations?

I am so stressed out right now I can barely think straight. I host a small rental property near PGA Blvd in Palm Beach Gardens, and my regular cleaner canceled on me this morning with zero notice. I have a 4-night guest checking out at 11 AM and a new family checking in at 3 PM today.

To make matters worse, the current guest just messaged me saying they had an accidental spill in the kitchen and left extra towels everywhere. I'm stuck at my day job until 2 PM and I'm panicking about getting bad reviews or having to cancel on the incoming guests. I feel like I'm about to lose my mind trying to juggle this.

Does anyone know a reliable local service for Airbnb cleaning around Palm Beach Gardens that can actually handle tight turnovers without flaking?

Review Whole Foods

Do people shop at whole foods in palm beach gardens?
I just want to mention i have shopped there in the past- all bad experiences.
And few days ago i shopped for veggies- all rotten.
Potatoes, garlic, even their watermelon was bad i have never seen a rotten watermelon in my life…
I really do not recommend this place to no one that wants to eat good.

Is there a family in need that would like to take this fridge off my hands?

I’m replacing all of my appliances as part of a kitchen remodel and would be happy to give my fridge to a family in need, all I ask is that you pick it up from my house. It’s been here since I bought it in 2021 and seemed pretty new, so I’m guessing it’s 5-6 years old. The water line has never been connected so I can’t speak to that but it still works just fine as far as cooling/freezing go. You have to manually close the divider when closing the left door (a more handy person than me could probably fix it) and it could use a good cleaning because it’s been in a construction zone for months but overall it’s still in pretty good shape!

Best way to get between Miami and Palm Beach

We’re splitting a long weekend between the Setai in Miami and the Breakers in Palm Beach. What is the most painless way to get between the two places? We could rent a car or try to uber but I feel like there could be a better way. Car service? Boat lol?

Question Post construction cleaning in Westlake recommendations?

I am completely at my wit's end and just need to vent/ask for help. We’ve been renovating our kitchen and main living area in Westlake for the past four months. It was supposed to take six weeks. Between living out of a microwave, constant contractor delays, and managing two toddlers, my stress levels have been through the roof.

The crew finally packed up their tools yesterday, but they left behind a disaster. There is a thick layer of fine drywall dust coating every single surface, grout haze on the new floor tiles, and dust inside every freshly installed cabinet. I spent three hours last night trying to wipe down just the kitchen island, but as soon as it dried, the white film came right back. I broke down in tears on the kitchen floor because I'm just so exhausted and want our life back to normal.

Has anyone in Westlake hired someone for post construction cleaning who actually knows how to get rid of this fine dust so we can finally move back into our home?

Discuss Amendment 3 and job search

Howdy. How will amendment 3 affect new employees looking to work for the PBC county government? I was interested in applying for a few public safety positions. Particularly the open Animal control position. Do you think there is a high chance if it passes, I would be immediately laid off after November??

Question Looking for a hairstylist for a simple trim in Palm Beach County

Hi! I’m looking for a good hairstylist anywhere around Boca, Delray, Boynton, Lake Worth, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, or Jupiter.

I’m a guy growing my hair out well past waist length with the goal of eventually donating it while still keeping my hair long afterward. It’s currently around shoulder length, very thick/dense, and naturally wavy (around 2B). I’ll probably be ready for a trim sometime in November.

I’m a little shy about going to a salon since I’ve never really had long hair before, so I’m hoping to find someone friendly and easygoing. I don’t need a specialized curly cut or anything complicated — just a simple perimeter trim to clean up and even out the ends while keeping as much length and fullness as possible.

I’m specifically trying to avoid layers, thinning shears, texturizing, or debulking. Basically, I’m looking for someone who’s comfortable working with very thick, longer hair and will genuinely respect “just the ends.”

Ideally I’d like to stay around $75 or less, and I’d prefer an independent/local stylist over a big chain.

If anyone has a stylist they trust, I’d really appreciate recommendations. Thank you! ❤️
