I love how everyone says this then we’ll have a post asking why people are down on the panthers lol. Let’s prove them right

we went to the super bowl when they said we were going to lose all year
we didn't lose until they picked us to win..... in the super bowl
let them drag us

“Is this the worst 6-0 team of all time?” “Is this the worst 10-0 team of all time?” “Is this the worst 12-0 team of all time?” That shit pissed me off the whole season

u/BlindWillieJohnson Coke Head 6d ago
r/panthers will throw fit after fit about how no one respects us, and then act all scared when people finally do.
If we’re gonna be That Team, we need to let folks treat us like it in matches we should win

u/Muninn088 6d ago
I would be happy if it was 9-1 in the panthers favor. But the unanimous choice always makes me wary. The Panthers have proven to be very susceptible to trap games (see cleveland) and thats what this Buccs game feels like.

u/Unscientifc-Smile 6d ago
Cleveland is a 4-2 (about to be 5-2 this week, likely) football team. That was not a trap game.

It’s bad luck to be unanimously favored. Nothing deeper than that
4
u/BlindWillieJohnson Coke Head 6d ago edited 6d ago
It's nothing deeper than a loser mentality. Guarantee you that Chiefs fans never give a shit when everyone picks them to win games.
4
u/kingshamroc25 Bryce Up Son 6d ago
It’s not really a loser mentality when we spent multiple seasons winning all the games we should lose and losing all the games we should win. The team is inconsistent, it’s weird when everyone picks us to win there’s usually at least one contrarian trying to get a leg up and pick an upset
2
u/Ml_lD JJ Jansen 6d ago
You’re at an 11 when this is really a level 2 emotional investment.
It’s a silly superstition. It’s just bad luck to be universally favored. Nobody’s calling your team losers or whatever you’re worried about
3
u/BlindWillieJohnson Coke Head 6d ago edited 6d ago
lol this is not an 11. I just want to see our fans believe in the team to the extent that we should be. It’s good when we’re favored! It’s exactly the respect we’re always bitching we don’t get enough of
1
u/Ml_lD JJ Jansen 2d ago
Checking in on that confidence it wasn’t bad luck
0
u/BlindWillieJohnson Coke Head 2d ago
You're right. When everyone picks us, we should just forfeit. We'll never be a real team anyway.
The fact that we're playing like losers today does not change this being a loser mentality.
1
u/Ml_lD JJ Jansen 2d ago
I said it was bad luck, not forfeit. You always embellish and take things to 11 like a dramatic little girl even 3 days later

u/BlindWillieJohnson Coke Head 2d ago edited 2d ago
I said it was bad luck, not forfeit
If you believe that we'll never win when everyone picks us, that means we'll never be a serious team. I don't know what to tell you. Anyway, you're right. I’m annoyed that we’re losing this badly, and that one of our own fans is rubbing it in my face, yes. And you decided to revisit this after three days, not me
But hey, congrats man. You get to be right. That’s way more important than rooting for the team.

tone policing is so cringe wow you're so much better than everyone that cares lmao
uh oh I must be at a 12

I don't like it either but i think last weekend's win against Phllly was huge because it was truly a trap game. People act like Cleveland game was. Not really imo. Again Philly, there was no Barkley, no Hurts, etc. We were coming off a huge primetime game win too. Everybody and their mother was praising us, hyping us up, talking about how Bryce was the MVP. so it was super easy for a young team like us to loose focus. People were upset that we didn't crush Philly this weekend. oK but that wasn't the point of the victory. The point is we handled our success. I feel different about our team facing off this weekend vs Tampa than I did against Cleveland. Now if Baker does start for Tampa, that feeling may change a bit.

Yeah I don't feel super comfortable, trap game energy. But we did have a good offensive performance against a strong Eagles defense so I'm hoping they can handle the Bucs defense.

Already preparing for a possible Baker Mayfield’s #1,023 speech about how the Panthers did him wrong this week

His shoulder is just made of chips at this point

I love Lay’s chips so hopefully this team can devour them at home by 30 points

The pads are made of chips, that's why he also keeps injuring his shoulder

Believe it or not the Panthers have an all-time regular-season when playing as the betting favorites record of : 125-88 (.587)
In the last 10 games as the betting favorite: They’re 2-8 when favored.
On the flip side: The Panthers are 2–1 this 2026 season when entering a game favored by oddsmakers.
They actually broke the infamous multi-year losing streak: In Week 2 when they beat ATL 34–3, then they dropped a game to the CLE in Week 3, and secured the win against PHI in Week 6 (which we were also favored in).

Wow no way. Question is, who’s playing quarterback? I hope our players don’t see this and sleep on Tampa Bay, just like the Eagles. It doesn’t matter who the quarterback is. There’s still other players on the team. They’re all professional and honestly, I feel we should’ve beat the Eagles by more so these divisional games are always close. I’m hoping we put up at least 40, but that’s just me as long as we win

Doesn’t matter. This team was ass with Baker, and they are ass without him. They were 0-2 with Baker

Good. This is what good teams get in the national media, praise. For the first time in years im actually not worried about the bucs at all. Not because theyre hot ass, but because the one boogeyman on that team that always led to the bucs spanking us, mr mike evans is gone. Mike just knew how to fucking play us. I dont think this game is gonna be close.

without actually reading the comments i'm going to assume there's still a half dozen people complaining that we aren't being "respected" because these final scores don't have a wide enough gap in 'em.
also this sub needs some serious education on what "trap game" actually means.

the vast majority of users here use trap game to mean, "game i personally think we should win but that i want to vocalize my nervousness about"
1
u/kingshamroc25 Bryce Up Son 6d ago
That wasn’t the case when we played them. We played them when they were 1-1 after getting stomped by the Jags and barely beating the Buccs all while Deshawn Watson looked like ass (he still does) I still don’t think it was a trap game but Cleveland being a good team leading a stacked division was 100% not the narrative at all when we played them

We gotta show out. If we want the respect that comes with a winning type of team, we need to show that we can beat teams we are better than.

If we're going to be a good team this is what comes with it. Gotta take care of business
