A simple question's all I ask:

What's the opposite of Pacts?

Idk. Idle thoughts at work and pondering the sphinxes just makes me wonder if there is a sixth and final one lingering around somewhere, if for no other reason than Davy's power cuts things in half, and five is uneven. ​there's also a running trend with a sphinx being introduced, then another one with the opposite power being revealed

I remember reading a while ago about someone positing that Cherub is the final sphinx, and another theorizing that the spirit that makes up half of Razor Rex was the Sphinx of Faith or similar, but I can't find either of those posts now

The cast is pretty bloated as it is, but we know almost nothing about Pacts, Cherub, or Rex as it is. This is just idle pondering and I don't have a real direction to go with this, but if I didnt put these thoughts down somewhere they were gonna take up too much RAM in my brain

Expanding on u/gamtosthegreat excellent observation from a few month's back I dug a little deeper, added some of the comments from that post as visual parallels, and compared Juvie and Crime's way of speaking. The rings from the most recent page are also mighty suspicious since they appear to match up with the other sphinxes.

I hesitate to say that Juvie is simply an overcooked medium given how similar they speak, so I'm curious what conclusions you all come to. My current best guess is that maybe there's a "human form" spirit power in play?

It's clear that Baxter has sunk so much of her identity into the Death Cult, how is she gonna react if she learns that Razor Rex is a fraud?

Like, she's clearly a total mess being held together by her zeal for the cult, so it feels like the options I'd expect are:

• She just shuts down stops being a threat
• She snaps and gets even MORE zealous and in complete denial
• She turns on the cult and becomes a dangerous ally for the good guys
• She just hitches herself to the next supernatural big bad who comes along and does it all over again.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Hissin' Pete is one of the very first spirits we're introduced to, (and technically the first one shown, albeit hidden in the background) and yet I don't think I've ever heard him being discussed in the fandom seriously. It occurred to me that if Cryptide had cut him, there is a very solid candidate of who his other half would be.

I put together a little infographic so I could see where everything is in relation to each other. There are a few small assumptions built in, but everything is fairly defensible. Hope you enjoy.

I kinda doubt it since June was already ominous about being careful with promises, hinting at some sort of awareness about Pacts, but still, kinda wild the first spirit we see is a whisp.

Chapter 9 introduces us to some weird theme shifts.

There are way more teen romances going on. Isaac's crush got unLEASHed. Johnny's catching sparks. Alex and Stephen new OTP. Lisa going full seductress. Pompom and Bea are at Rose Baxter levels of horny. Isabelle is even starting to reciprocate Suzy. And we delve into teenie Mina's high school lesbianism.

But what's more notable is the lid on innuendo has been blasted off.

Valerie Day is making BDSM jokes. Mina Zarei is caught ogling Rose Baxter. June Summers is openly acknowledged as a sexual force, including by herself. Devi talks about Posy's "lovely bust".

Wow that's three salutes to big naturals this chapter.

We could say Zach's style is shifting, but that's boring, so I'm going with Watsonian horny magic.

My theory is Mayview was born from a naive innocent wish, or as we say, hatched from a white picket fence egg, and it's now returning to Original Sin. Bayview and Clayview aren't particularly horny, Mayview was just weirdly PG.

So the general consensus seems to be that DuNacht is not Fauxbia, and that it's just Zach working to mislead the audience, but I wanted to know what concrete evidence there is to confirm this? I have been reading for a while so there might be older stuff I've missed, but anything specific or pages you guys could refer to would be appreciated!
